There are few thousand year old pines in Mengshan mountain of Shandong Province. The ones that grow into auspicious patterns are more precious and rare. The dragon and Phoenix pines grow on the southward part of the roadside. The head of the dragon is high, the scales are mottled, and the claws and whiskers are strong. It looks like a dragon that wants to soar.

The branch growing to the north is like a graceful Phoenix, with green feathers, a high head and a swaying tail. We often use dragon and phoenix dance to describe beauty, vividness and auspiciousness. This auspicious picture of dragon and phoenix is formed naturally. It is still full of vitality after suffering. It is a symbol of our indomitable and thriving national spirit.

It is located at the entrance of the Tibetan mountain, with Longsong on the left and Fengsong on the right. Long song curved plate Qiu, if leaping to take off; Feng Song curling Pavilion stand, want to soar. The dragon, Phoenix and pine are vivid, and visitors can stop here to admire them. The Dragon pines are born on the ground, like the curly dragon, whistling up to the sky; the Phoenix pines are graceful, ready to spread their wings.

Renshou hall in the summer palace of Beijing is the place where Emperor Guangxu was imprisoned. Emperor Guangxu once met Kang Youwei here. The monarch and his officials talked about the reform thoughts and brewed "the reform movement of 1898".

One of the two ancient Pinus tabulaeformis trees outside the hall has a peculiar shape. Its branches tend to one side and grow horizontally. The low branches can be in close contact with people. The other is towering into the clouds, like a dragon flying in the wind. They nestle together like a dragon and a Phoenix. "Dragon" seems to want to take advantage of the wind to fly away, while "phoenix" is gentle and quiet, and has witnessed the "reform movement of 1898" which has influenced Chinese history.
