Liulin River, a tributary of Fenhe River, is located in the mountainous area of the western edge of Wanbailin District, 25km northwest of Taiyuan city and the junction of Yangqu county and Gujiao City. It's about eight kilometers long.

It's about eight kilometers long. There are cliffs on both sides of the river, surrounded by beautiful peaks on all sides. There are several iron cable bridges hanging in the river, which add to the charm of grandeur, strangeness, seclusion and wildness. Liulin river is located in a 1500 meter long and 100 meter deep gorge 2.5 kilometers away from Wangfeng village, nanwangfeng township. It has many kinds of dangerous rocks. It is made naturally and is as narrow as a lane. It is called "a line of sky". The average width of the canyon is 3 meters, and the deepest part is only 0.3 meters wide. It is famous for its secularity and danger. The limestone on the two walls of the ditch has a peculiar shape, and a clear current at the bottom of the Gorge Falls and jumps, forming many underground waterfalls among the strange rocks. Looking up at the scenery inside the cave, the water drops on the top of the cave hang like pearls. There are several small holes in the cave, which extend inwards and are unfathomable. Its natural landscape also includes limestone corridor, crescent moon pass, kiss rock, Tongtian cave, flying turtle, refuge room, Longping Valley, hump ridge, climbing ladder, taiyangshi, Minggong sea bottom flying fish, etc. Liulin River and the nearby Xuanquan temple in Yangqu county were tourist attractions as early as 1102-1107 (song Chongning). More than 100 meters to the west of Xuanquan temple, the dam of the second Fenhe Reservoir is being built. All kinds of pavilions and pavilions will be built on the dam. The peninsula in the reservoir area will be built into a summer resort with ancient, beautiful, dangerous and unique characteristics.
