Zhuangyuanzhou, also known as Luzhou, is located in the east of Liling City, Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, on the middle stream of Xiujiang river. It covers an area of about 6 hectares and looks like a huge ship. It is said that there is an ancient prophecy in Liling that "the state passes in front of the county gate, and Liling comes out with the number one scholar", so it is named "number one scholar state".

General situation

Zhuangyuanzhou is a famous scenic spot in Liling City, Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. It has always been one of the eight scenic spots in Liling City and is known as "zhuangyuanfangzhou". Located in the middle of Lujiang River, the island is spindle shaped, about 500 meters long and 100 meters wide. It was a vegetable garden in Ming Dynasty and a mulberry garden in Qing Dynasty. In 1925, the Lujiang bridge was built, and the approach bridge was built to connect with the island. It is said that there is an ancient prophecy in Liling that "the state passes in front of the county, and Liling comes out with the number one scholar", so it is named "number one scholar state". It is a pity that Liling has never come out with the number one scholar. In the Ming and Tang Dynasties, there was a poem about the number one Yuanzhou: "the peak of the pen stands in the middle of the other river, and the two lines of literary light are clear and blue. Zhuangyuanzhou is located in Lushui of Liling City, which is connected by hengqiao and Lujiang bridge. In the early Ming Dynasty, it was a vegetable garden, and later a Wutong horse testing ground. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was turned into a mulberry garden. The stone arch bridge will be built into a park. When the great revolution failed, zhuangyuanzhou was the execution ground for the reactionaries of the National Development Party to kill Communists and revolutionaries. In September 1930, after the first front army of the red army attacked Changsha, on the way back to Gannan, Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Peng Dehuai and others led their troops to rest in Liling. The headquarters was set up in Yuanqiao Office of zhuangyuanzhou. Mao Zedong also attended the meeting of the special committee of the Communist Party of China in eastern Hunan. On the wooden wallboard on the third floor, there are signs written by the Red Army.

It is said that in ancient times, zhuangyuanzhou in Lujiang River was still a nameless Fangzhou, because there was a 14-year-old xiaoyulang who settled down on it, so people called it yulangzhou. Xiao Yulang's name is Tao Yi. He is smart and honest. People call him Mao Taozi affectionately. In this oasis, Tao Yi assiduously studied poetry. Tao Yi's teachers often boast in front of people: "I, as a student, will become a great tool in the future. If there is going to be No.1 scholar in yulangzhou, it should be called No.1 scholar Zhou." As soon as they come and go, people call yulangzhou zhuangyuanzhou. As time flies, Tao Yinian saved Bingji, the daughter of Fuxi and Nuwa, and they became husband and wife. However, many people covet Bingji's peerless appearance and want to tease her, but they are teased by her. Among them, a magistrate in the sky was teased by Bingji and inserted his pen into a stone mountain, which later became what people call "Wenbi peak". However, the judge returned to heaven and falsely accused Bingji, which eventually led to the Jade Emperor's ruling that Liling in Tanzhou could not be the number one scholar. According to the staff of Liling cultural center, Liling folk literature, the legend of zhuangyuanzhou, has been handed down for many years. In the 1970s, the staff of the cultural center rescued, collected and sorted them out in a chance encounter. According to the staff of Liling Intangible Cultural Heritage Office, the legend of zhuangyuanzhou is the most representative legend in Liling, which reflects the cultural identity and spiritual temperament of Liling people and has profound educational significance.

Ming Dynasty "unified annals" contains a prophecy: "Zhou Guo County Gate, Liling out of the number one.". Although Liling has never been the number one scholar, it has fulfilled Tang Yin's poem that "the ancient prophecy will come true after a long time, and when the thunder will rise". Since the late Qing Dynasty, Liling has been full of talents. In modern history, there are many "top scholars" who have made great contributions to National Awakening, overthrowing monarchy, fighting aggression, people's liberation, education development, scientific and technological progress, economic revitalization, national prosperity and strength, and selfless work. Therefore, in 1995, the old comrades advocated the construction of the number one scholar's Pavilion at the head of the island. It rose from the ground, with five eaves, and stood in the middle of the river, nearly 30 meters high. You can see the whole city from the pavilion. It has a library with a collection of more than 150000 books. On the upper side of Lujiang bridge, there is an approach bridge connecting zhuangyuanzhou, surrounded by stone railings, trees, birds, flowers and fragrance. The city's elderly activity center provides an excellent place for fitness and leisure for the urban elderly, and it is also a leisure place for citizens.
