Tumen pass

There are three famous place names in Hebei Province, Qinghai Province and Gansu Province.

In the West Wuli of Huolu county (today's Luquan District), between zuohailuo and youbaodu mountains, and to the north of jinghuo highway, there is a village, Tumen village in ancient times (now divided into two villages, East Tumen and West Tumen). This is Tumen pass, also known as jingxingkou in ancient times, which is also the main battlefield of the famous ancient battle of the Han Dynasty.

Tumen pass has been the only way for the East and the West since ancient times. It has been left to the three gates, and still has the words of "thoroughfare of three provinces", "thoroughfare of Shanxi and Shaanxi", "Tumen pass" and so on. The history said that "Tumen is an important place, and the eastern part of it is the border of Hu River, Yan and Zhao.". Its southwest ten thousand peak inserts the day, the sheep intestines line. And to travel far to the Qin and Jin Dynasties is the throat of sincerity, and the rush of communication. In the Han and Tang Dynasties, it was a pass, where troops were stationed to stay in Xuri, and it was almost the same as Puban in Tongguan. " In a broad sense, jingxingguan refers to the prepared Canyon passage from Niangziguan in the west to Tumen pass in the East, while in a narrow sense, jingxingguan refers to Tumen pass in the East.

Since the Qin Dynasty, Tumen pass has been built with a rare pass city, which is a must for military strategists!

Tumen pass is actually a part of Jingxing pass. According to the book of Tang geography, there is Jingxing pass in Zhenzhou Huolu, also known as Tumen pass Jingxing pass can be divided into narrow sense and broad sense. In broad sense, Jingxing pass refers to the whole territory of Jingxing, including dongtumen pass, the east entrance of Jingxing pass, xiguguan pass and Niangziguan pass, the west entrance. And in Jingxing territory of the ancient road, that is, the history of "Jingxing Road, the car can not be square track, riding can not be a line" on the Yangchang line of passage. Therefore, Jingxing has always been a shield for the right vassal of Jifu, and the North arch Shenjing (Beijing), east to Heshuo, West to Qin, Jin, Ba and Shu must pass through Confucius, so the successive dynasties "according to the special emphasis.".

Han Xin's battle against Zhao took place in the center of Tumen pass, from Jingxing Weishui in the west to Huolu County in the East, within 30 Li. According to historical records, at that time, Li zuoche of Zhao Guozhi taught Chen Yu to gather heavy troops at Tumen pass and not fight against the wall. He cut off the rear with a strange weapon, so that Han Xin could be released into the old pass without making the unearthed gate pass. For example, he threw a tiger into the pit, so he was killed. Chen Yu, on the other hand, is adamant. Instead of setting up a defense at Tumen pass, he is stationed in the northeast of Huolu county. As a result, Han Xin had a chance to defeat Zhao in the first World War.

Although the history of Tumen pass is very important and its geographical location is very important, there are no authoritative reference books such as Cihai, Ciyuan and Chinese dictionary. Jingxingguan, on the other hand, is misinterpreted (see the article "jingxingguan" in Cihai), which is a pity.
