Zhengguo folk custom museum is located in "Qingjiang ancient town folk red village" in Yicheng city, with black tiles and white walls and horse head and angle. It is a typical Huizhou architectural style. It started construction in October 2008 and was officially registered in 2009, with a total construction area of 3900 square meters, exhibition area of 3100 square meters and a total investment of more than 30 million yuan.

Development history

Zhengguo folk custom museum of Yidu City, Hubei Province is located in "Qingjiang ancient town · folk red village" of Yidu city. It started construction in October 2008 and was officially registered in 2009. It has a total construction area of 3900 square meters, exhibition area of 3100 square meters and a total investment of more than 30 million yuan.

Basic layout

The architectural style of the museum is Hui style well courtyard in Qing Dynasty. The layout is square, facing north, high and low, surrounded by water on three sides. All the doors and windows, wooden railings, eaves, footstones and column bases in the museum are relics of ancient architecture with antique flavor.

There are 14 exhibition halls of folk culture and four halls and one room in the farm hall.

Folk Culture Exhibition

249 pieces of fine folk culture are selected from 1800 registered collections and are displayed in 14 exhibition halls. From the perspective of folk culture, the exhibition hall reflects the fragments and changes of folk history from different levels. It is not a grand narrative, but contains the sweet and sour from the folk.

The exhibition hall includes religious culture exhibition hall, weapons exhibition hall, Tujia furniture exhibition hall, local tobacco appliance exhibition hall, stone carving exhibition hall, Zhuangyuan culture exhibition hall, wood carving exhibition hall, opium appliance exhibition hall, ancient calligraphy and painting exhibition hall, mahogany furniture exhibition hall, boutique bed exhibition hall, official Supplies Exhibition hall, BA renman top bed exhibition hall and embroidery exhibition hall.

Farm house

The farm hall is a newly built exhibition hall from 2014 to early 2015, which is divided into four halls and one room. It displays the tools of traditional agricultural production, processing, storage and measurement, as well as the corresponding clothing, food, housing, transportation and other objects, so that those of us who benefit from the agricultural civilization will have a deep memory of the diligence, wisdom, simplicity and kindness of our ancestors. The aim is not to forget farming, and to create the brilliance of modern civilization.

It is natural to have soil but not soil.

1. Farm tools Hall

Plough, as the main farming tool of cultivated land, is obviously branded with the mark of the times: during the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, cattle plough was gradually popularized. The innovation of Quyuan plow in Tang Dynasty is a great invention of the ancient working people in China, marking the maturity and advancement of farming tools in China. In the Song Dynasty, a paddy field tool system centered on ploughing, harrowing and digging was formed.

This system is confirmed by our department, which also includes farming tools, hoes and hoes in dryland.

2. Textile tools Hall

Homespun cloth, also known as homespun cloth and homespun woven cloth, is a kind of pure cotton handmade textile used for generations. The hand spinning wheel and hand loom on display in this hall are tools for weaving coarse earth cloth.

Men's farming and women's weaving, natural division of labor and self-sufficiency are the common labor paradigm of small-scale peasant economy in agricultural society. "Plenty of food and clothing" means a well-off family.

3. Non farm equipment Hall

The non farming utensils displayed in this hall refer to the utensils used for cleaning, processing, measuring and storing grain crops during autumn harvest and winter storage.

In grain cleaning equipment, fan car is commonly known as "wind bucket". It is not only ahead of the West for nearly a thousand years, but also contains the value of science and technology: the ancestor of modern centrifugal compressor.

Non farming tools, like farming tools, have witnessed the glory of Chinese farming civilization.

4. Fishing and hunting tool Hall

Yidu has a long history of fishing and hunting. The Yangtze River, Qingjiang River and Yuyang river flow through Yidu, with crisscross streams, rolling hills and dense forests. According to relevant records, more than 7000 years ago, there were ancestors fishing and hunting on this land.

Traditional fishing, shrimp catching and hunting is a natural supplement to traditional farming in Yidu.

More than 160 pieces of fishing and hunting tools and related cultural relics are collected in this hall, which directly shows the fishing and hunting life that no longer exists in the modern agricultural environment.

5. Ancestral house

The exhibition hall is divided into three parts: the main room, the side room and the front of the room. It shows the living, customs, working places and related objects with the family as the social unit.

(1) Main hall

The main hall of traditional houses is a place for family sacrifices and important rituals. During the Spring Festival, we worship the gods and ancestors, celebrate the birthday of the wedding and funeral, and inherit the Confucian culture and etiquette. Here, we should pay attention to etiquette, respect and inferiority, sincerity and calmness, and family rules and customs. Therefore, no matter rich or poor, the main house is indispensable for those who have a fixed residence.

(2) Side room

The side room has a living room and a kitchen.

(3) , in front of the house

In front of the house, there are paddy fields, dry fields, vegetable gardens, three people's pedal water wheel, Shihan, chunduiwo, shimanzi, and stone cattle, stone cattle inscriptions, etc.

Red memory exhibition hall

The red memory exhibition hall is an exhibition hall for the promotion of the construction of old revolutionary areas in Yidu city. In order to fully explore and make use of the red treasure of old revolutionary areas in Yidu City, inherit the glorious tradition of old revolutionary areas, cultivate and practice the socialist core values, and transmit positive energy, the red memory exhibition hall cooperated with the Zhengguo folk custom museum in Yidu city to hold the revolutionary old museum from 1919 to 1949, from the period of the new democratic revolution to the period of the war of liberation to the period of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea District Exhibition. It shows the heroic red Soviet Area and the revolutionary heroes like stars, and composes the brilliant chapter of the old revolutionary base area of Yidu.

There are 56 objects and 82 sets of pictures on display in the red memory exhibition, with a total of 138 (sets), of which 91 (sets) are provided by the Council for the promotion of the elderly and 47 (sets) are provided by Zhengguo Museum. The exhibits include: all kinds of revolutionary pictures related to Yidu, all kinds of weapons related to the war of resistance against Japan, the war of liberation, the war of resistance against the United States, the situation of the old revolutionary base areas, etc.

Collection resources

It has a collection of more than 10000 historical, revolutionary and folk cultural relics. Among them, 1800 items were registered, and the rest have not yet been registered.

Since the construction of Zhengguo folk custom museum in Yidu City, it has received more than ten thousand visitors for investigation, study and leisure. It has become a unique window for the exhibition of Yidu city.

He Yong, then Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Yang Dongquan, director of the State Archives Bureau, Luo Qingquan, Secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee, Wang Guosheng, deputy secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee and governor of Hubei Province, and Huang Xianyao, Secretary of the provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, visited Zhengguo folk custom museum for many times.

From August 11 to 12, 2010, the "on-the-spot meeting of cultivating the main body of tourism market in the ecological and cultural tourism circle of Western Hubei" was held in Yichang. Li Xiansheng, member of the Standing Committee of the provincial Party committee and executive vice governor, Zhang Tong, vice governor, and the delegates visited Zhengguo folk custom museum and gave them high praise.

On December 13, 2010, the working site meeting of Hubei private museums was held in Yidu city. The leaders attending the meeting visited Zhengguo folk museum before the meeting and praised Zhengguo Folk Museum as "a rare flower in Hubei Province".

Curator Liu Zhengguo was selected as "Yichang top 10 popular news figures" in 2011. In 2012, Zhengguo folk custom museum was named "national youth quality education base" by China Youth Social Development Center of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and won the fifth national "passing on the torch - annual contribution award of Chinese cultural heritage protection".

On November 26, 2012, Hubei Provincial Museum and Zhengguo folk custom museum in Yidu city signed the agreement on counterpart assistance to private museums of national first-class museums in Hubei Province. The "voluntary and free" help of Hubei Provincial Museum improves the level of Zhengguo folk custom museum and guides the healthy and sustainable development of Zhengguo Museum.

In 2014, Zhengguo folk custom museum in Yidu city was designated as the "research base of Chinese folk culture" by China Folk Artists Association, and awarded the license.

In May 2015, Zhengguo folk custom museum officially established the academic department of "China folk culture research base", which will take Zhengguo Museum as the carrier to study the local culture, so as to better protect, display and inherit the folk traditional treasures, give full play to the publicity and education function of folk cultural relics, serve the society, and cultivate one side.
