Shuangxi Temple

Shuangxi temple is located in Zhubei Town, Qingyang County, Anhui Province, 30 Li to the East, so it is called "Jiuhua Houshan". Shuangxi temple is surrounded by mountains and waters, with quiet environment and beautiful scenery. There is a "clean spring" under the rock beside the temple. The spring is clear and trickling. Shuangxi water flows into Qingtong River in front of hengliu temple. From time to time, we can hear the sound of the anvil and pestle, which has a poetic mood of "intermittent cold anvil and intermittent wind". There are many kinds of flowers and plants in the temple, which are fragrant. There are lots of tea gardens outside the temple, and trees and fruits. Shuangxi temple is located in the past generations of eminent monks gathered, Xuyun monk and Yuexia monk had run Huayan school in Houshan, so Houshan is also known as "Huayan Daochang".

Historical evolution

Shuangxi Temple

It was founded by master Ji Tong in 1932. Master Jitong, a 19-year-old monk from Mianyang, Hubei Province, became a monk in Shuangxi temple, Anlu County, Shaanxi Province. Later, he taught the Sutra from master Yuexia in Shanghai's Hatong park. Later, he went to master congzuyin in Hubei to listen to the Sutra of Lengyan and learn the concept of teaching. He also went to Hunan to hold Huayan study class. Because of the frequent wars at that time, he transferred to Longtan jingshe in Lushan, closed for three years to read the Sutra. Three years later, he returned to Lianxi temple in Hubei to host Huayan University. In the twenty-first year of the Republic of China, master Jitong paid homage to the king of Tibet in Jiuhua. He went all over the front and back mountains and saw that the back mountain was a Buddhist holy land with a quiet environment. Because he never forgot Shuangxi temple in Ankang, Shaanxi, he bought a place under jiuziyan to rebuild it. In 1949, Master Cheng passed away in Meiyin temple in Wuhan, enjoying more than 70 years of life.

In 1976, a fire reduced Shuangxi temple to ashes, and the original site of the temple was abandoned. Later, several monks of Shuangxi Temple rebuilt the temple. However, due to the lack of Buddhism at that time and the poor economy, the temple was as shabby as the living quarters.

Since the implementation of the religious policy, thanks to the great support of master Ren De of Jiuhua Mountain, the number of Buddhist believers has increased day by day. In addition, Houshan has a Daxing real body, and the number of worshippers has increased day by day. The economy of Houshan has also taken a turn for the better. With the help of Sifang's religious belief, Ke can continue to work hard. In 1994, he began to rebuild the main hall of Shuangxi temple, which was completed in 1996. The main hall is majestic and spectacular, with three gilded Buddhas sitting on the central lotus platform. Sakyamuni Buddha sits in the middle, Amitabha Buddha on the left and pharmacist Buddha on the right. Behind the front is Guanyin, on the left is Puxian, and on the right is Manjusri. There are nine Arhats on each side of the hall. The whole hall, treasure gas condensation, Yu Ran Xuan rotten. In 1997, Daliao house was built to accommodate more than 300 people. In 1998, Youming bell tower was rebuilt.

Shuangxi Temple

The famous monk is master Daxing. He was born in 1894 and became a monk in Jiuhuashan centenary palace in 1925. He lived in Shuangxi temple in 1958. Master Daxing is good at meditation. He often cures the people nearby and does nothing. After his death in 1984, under the strong demand of the local people, he retained his body, installed tanks, built towers and erected a monument. Five years later, when the tower was demolished and the cylinder was opened, the body of monk Daxing was not rotten, which can be called the hall trace. The temple then reported to the Jiuhua Mountain Buddhist Association and offered it in gold. There was an endless stream of worshippers from all over the world.
