The planning and construction of large-scale public green space in Yan'an middle road is a major measure taken by Shanghai municipal Party committee and government to improve the urban ecological environment, alleviate the heat island effect in the central city, improve the quality of life of citizens, and promote the coordinated development of society, economy and environment.

Brief introduction of green space

The large public green space of Yan'an middle road is designed by Montreal, Canada, and constructed by Shanghai Hongcheng real estate company and Jing'an Green Development Co., Ltd. After the completion of the Jing'an section of Yan'an middle road green space as a model of Chinese landscape garden and the harmonious blend of history and culture, is a set of sightseeing, leisure and entertainment in one of the open urban garden. The whole green space construction project took seven months and was officially opened to the public on July 1, 2001. It is maintained and managed by Shanghai Jing'an greening maintenance company.

The layout of Yanzhong green space in Jing'an is divided into three parts. The south is a space to show history and culture. Centered on the site of the second National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the civilian women's school, the surrounding area is planted with regular Mexican larch forest, red flower tree and tortoise shell holly, reflecting the solemn and solemn atmosphere. The central part is an urban forest space with undulating terrain. The greening plants are mainly tall trees, with various flower shrubs and evergreen lawns, forming a beautiful landscape with scattered height, orderly density and rich levels. In particular, the original big park tree in the green space was buried more than two meters deep due to the pile terrain, but a series of scientific methods such as opening drainage ditch and making ventilation pipe were adopted, which made the big park tree grow well and become a great spectacle in the green space. In the north, there is a natural landscape space, with a height of 10 meters and a length of 150 meters. Large rockeries and waterfalls are made of Yellowstone, and precious flowers and trees are planted. On the east side, there is a forest of Phyllostachys pubescens. On the mountain, pines and cypresses are lush, maple and Acer are shining, and the pool at the foot of the mountain is wild. There are cherry road and beech Avenue. It has formed a spectacular and beautiful "urban mountain forest" landscape, which has brought people close to nature for a long time.
