Xiwangmu ancestral temple, built in the Yuan Dynasty, has a history of 800 years. It has been repaired three times in history, and the last one was destroyed in 1932. It is a famous Taoist temple in China. In April 1999, Urumqi Daocheng Industrial Co., Ltd. invested and cooperated with Tianchi Administration Bureau to reconstruct the "West Queen Mother ancestral temple" on the original Temple site. The reconstructed West Queen Mother ancestral temple basically retains the architectural style of the original temple. The temple covers an area of more than 2000 square meters and has a building area of 429 square meters. It is located on the East Bank of Tianchi and is one of the important landscapes of Tianchi.

brief introduction

The West Queen Mother ancestral temple is located on the hillside on the Northeast Bank of Tianchi. Because it is dedicated to the queen mother, it is also known as "Niangniang Temple". According to the current historical records, the West Queen Mother ancestral temple was built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. It is said that the temple was built on a large scale with great fragrance. In 1932, the ancestral temple of Queen Mother of the West was destroyed by war. In the early 1990s, Taiwan Taoist "cihuitang" built a simple temple on the site of the former West Queen Mother ancestral temple for worshiping the queen mother. In 2000, the local government rebuilt a Grand West Queen Mother ancestral temple by inviting investment, and restored the famous historic site of Tianchi Lake.

Xiwangmuzu temple was built in 1221 ad in the early Yuan Dynasty. It has a history of nearly 800 years, during which several buildings were built and destroyed. The last one was destroyed in 1932. In 1987, with the reform and opening up, emancipating the mind, and the accelerating process of protecting and restoring China's traditional culture, the cultural relics department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region carried out a special archaeological excavation of xiwangmuzu temple. Many cultural relics with historical and cultural research value have been excavated. After that, many religious personages proposed to rebuild the Taoist cultural site of Xiwangmu ancestral temple. Among them is the chief Taoist of Taiwan Taoist charity hall. In April 1989, the Taoist "charity hall" chief of Taiwan paid a special visit to Tianchi in Tianshan Mountain, Xinjiang. He said that he was in Taiwan, and suddenly got a dream from the queen mother, demanding to rebuild the fairy house that had been destroyed for many years. The Taoist went to Tianchi in Tianshan mountain according to the direction of the queen mother in his dream. When he first came to Tianchi, he seemed to have known each other before. What Taoist priest saw was completely consistent with the place in his dream. Since then, the charity hall has organized hundreds of Taoist groups to pay homage to the queen mother in Tianchi, Tianshan Mountain, and donated money and suggestions for the reconstruction of the West Queen Mother ancestral temple.

After the rebuilding of Xiwangmu ancestral temple, the Taoist culture of Tianshan Tianchi and Xiwangmu culture also continued. At present, there are 5 permanent Taoist personnel, 5 Temple Management Committee personnel and 10 service personnel approved by relevant departments. Since its establishment, Taoists from all over the world, Hong Kong and Macao have come to Xiwangmu ancestral temple to find their roots and worship their ancestors. They receive tens of thousands of visitors every year, and the incense is very strong. In the future, Xiwangmu ancestral temple and Taoist culture will become a beautiful and magical landscape in Tianshan Tianchi scenic area.

Taoists all know that Fengshui is very important in the site selection of temples. The geographical location of the ancestral temple of the West Queen is very mysterious. It faces south, surrounded by mountains on three sides, and surrounded by water on the hillside of Wolong mountain. It occupies the essence of Tianshan Mountain Tianchi landscape, and the essence of the sun and moon. To the left of the West Queen Mother Temple is Bogda peak, a Taoist holy mountain covered with snow all the year round, which is called zuoqinglong. On the right is the water outlet of Tianchi (small Tianchi), which is called youbaihu, and below is the beautiful Tianshan yaochi. It just formed a rare Taoist geomantic omen in the left Qinglong and right Baihu, the former rosefinch and the latter Xuanwu, which made it a geomantic treasure land pattern of storing wind and gathering Qi and boundary water and wind. I don't know if heaven has reserved such a geomantic treasure land for the queen mother on purpose, or whether the founders are looking for mountains and streams to find the Holy Land in the world, combining the harmony between man and nature in the deep mountains and ancient temples, so as to win the best time, favorable location, harmony between man and nature, and achieve the realm of harmony between man and nature.
