Xishuangbanna primeval forest park is the largest peacock breeding base in Southeast Asia. It is said that more than 3000 peacocks live here.

Peacocks are divided into three species: White Peacock, Green Peacock and blue peacock. They generally live in the open grassland below 2000 meters above sea level, or grow in the open plateau area with shrubs, bamboo or coniferous, broad-leaved trees. They especially like to live near the river bank and open space with trees.

The peacocks here have been domesticated artificially since childhood, and they use whistles for stimulating training of conditioned reflex. So when the park trainer gives a whistle, hundreds of peacocks will slide down from the opposite mountain forest, skim over the surface of Jinhu Lake and look for food on the shore.
