Lengshuihe Nature Reserve

Lengshuihe nature reserve, located 30 kilometers northwest of Jinsha County, Guizhou Province, is the junction of shuishuisancha area of Pingba Township, Datian and Lvzhu areas of Datian Township, Qingmen and Hongzi areas of Qingmen Township, ring road and Taiping area of Taiping Township, Shichang area of Shichang Township and Lanba area of Guihua township. It is the junction of Lengshuihe River, Yousha River and its tributaries, Shengou River, Huaju River, Sancha River and niulugou river The drainage area of dayutaohe starts from the dam of Changzheng hydropower station along the river and its tributaries. The horizontal distance between the two sides of the river valley is 1.5 km, advancing 20 km. It is designated as Lengshuihe nature reserve, with a total area of 28.3 square kilometers.

Because the water in the river here has been absolutely clear and cool for a long time, so it is named Lengshuihe.

climate change

Lengshuihe nature reserve is 700-1500 meters above sea level. The rocks on both sides of the valley are cut like knives. The mountains are steep as walls. The valley is narrow and deep. There is little sunshine. In some places, there is no sunshine all the year round. The climate is warm and humid. The average temperature in January is 3.6-6 ℃, and that in July is 24.3-27 ℃. Protected area

At the source of the Lengshuihe River, there are waterfalls and the water is clear.

In the nature reserve, there are nearly 20 waterfalls with a drop of more than 40 meters. Due to the lush vegetation, which is equivalent to the efficiency of a reservoir of 2.5 million cubic meters, the river keeps flowing all the year round, and the waterfalls hang high all the year round, which is very spectacular. Along both sides of the river, there are abrupt peaks and towering ancient trees. Up to now, there are no less than 500 species of higher plants, basically evergreen trees.

The middle and lower part of the valley is a typical mid subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest, with undulating forest canopy and green all the year round. Up to 20 meters high, kawakamii, Lithocarpus, camellia, lotus and Ranunculaceae trees occupy the upper part of the forest canopy, with distinct layers. Some large lianas cling to it, epiphytic pteridophytes and shrubs are distributed in the forest, and the ground bryophytes are relatively developed, making the nature reserve a natural reserve A valley of emerald green all year round.

Biological resources

Among the existing trees, the ancient trees are widely distributed, most of which are more than 250 years old. There are rare plants, such as Taxus chinensis var. mairei, Fokienia hodginsii, bairiqing, Cephalotaxus fortunei, tianshisu, xiangguoshu, Magnolia officinalis, Photinia serrulata, Dalbergia, etc. Among them, one Schima superba is 35 meters high, with diameter at breast height of 1.55 meters and crown of 10 * 10 meters; Fokienia hodginsii is 22 meters high, with diameter at breast height of 70 cm. It is distributed together with bairiqing, which is rare in China and even in the world. The dense forest protects the reproduction of a variety of animals.

Rare animals are earthworm (40 cm long, 3 cm in diameter), giant salamander, red pheasant, red pheasant. There are monkey, pangolin, porcupine, raccoon dog, Jiangxi jackal, Chinese otter, badger, civet, civet, leopard, musk deer, deer, Moschus hupehensis, Sumen antelope and South China pig.
