Historical evolution

In September 1994, the Great Wall Museum of China was completed and opened.

In 2007, the Great Wall Museum of China carried out a comprehensive renovation with the theme of "world miracle · historical monument".

On May 18, 2008, the Great Wall Museum of China was officially opened to the public free of charge.

From April to June in 2019, the planning and infrastructure division of Badaling Special Administrative Region Office organized to repaint the facade of the Great Wall Museum of China with real stone paint, and painted the facade of the quadrangle of the museum with the traditional painting technology of ancient architecture. At the same time, the heating facilities of the quadrangle of the Great Wall Museum of China were transformed as a whole, and the heating mode of air source heat pump was adopted.

It has a preface hall, seven exhibition halls and a temporary exhibition hall. The eighth exhibition hall is the temporary exhibition hall, which is used to hold temporary exhibitions, academic seminars, etc.
