It is also known as Jishui bridge. In the south of the ancient city of Hancheng, on the Gushui river.

Brief introduction of bridge

The bridge runs from north to south. The body of the bridge is built with granite bars. There are 10 arched bridge openings. The Yuxiu bridge is 180 meters long and the Yuxiu bridge deck is 4.5 meters wide. Yuxiu bridge pier is shuttle shaped, Yuxiu bridge bottom stone shop, the bridge surface is bow shaped, stone crevice inlaid with iron ingot reinforcement, Yuxiu bridge on both sides of the stone column, looking at the east of 101 columns, west of 99, the column head carved melon and fruit, at both ends of the column set a symbol of the guardian of the stone man sitting with a snow cap. There is a stone carving tap in the middle of each hole, which is exquisite and vivid. The bridge was built in 1702, the 41st year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It was donated by Liu Yinshu (who was the governor of Yunnan and Guizhou provinces). It took five years to complete.

About Yuxiu bridge, there is also a little-known historical story of "three Liang silver selling bridge". Yuxiu bridge was built by Liu Yinshu, a native of Hancheng City and governor of Yunnan Province during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty. In order to prevent future generations from extorting people by the bridge, Liu Yinshu sold the bridge to Hancheng County for three Liang silver after the bridge was built. This story is still widely spread among the people in Hancheng, and it is used as a living teaching material to cultivate future generations to live independently.
