Mao anying school is a public school directly under the Education Bureau of Kuandian County, located in Hekou village, Changdian Town, Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, Liaoning Province. The other side is North Korea. Mao anying crossed the Yalu River from here and left his last footprints in the motherland. The school was completed on September 26, 2003.

School Objectives

The soul of Mao anying school is to "learn the spirit of heroes, take the road of heroes, create the great cause of heroes, and be the successor of heroes". Mao anying's goal is to build the school into a window school in Dandong, a national quality education school, a base school for ideological and moral construction of minors and patriotism education, and to achieve first-class team, first-class management, first-class environment and first-class quality in the region.

Carry forward the heroic spirit

It is surrounded by mountains, undulating peaks, close to mountains and rivers, and densely forested. The traffic along the river is very convenient. Shuifeng and Taipingwan, two large and medium-sized national hydropower stations, are located around the city. They are integrated with Hushan Great Wall, the starting point of the east end of the Great Wall in Yalu River National key scenic spot. It is one of the three major river crossing places for volunteers to resist US aggression and aid Korea.

The war of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea made Hekou, a small fishing village at the national defense outpost, famous in history. In the east of the village, the shanghekou railway bridge lies across the river, which is the bridge between Fengshang railway and Korea. It is an important transportation line of our side in the war of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea, which is called "iron blood artery"; in the south of the village, a Qingcheng bridge is the land passage to Korea. At the beginning of the war, the North Korean side was blown up by US aircraft, and now the bridge is broken.

Mao anying school is located less than one kilometer away from the broken bridge, which is the place where Comrade Mao anying left his last footprints in the motherland. The war of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea, which lasted for nearly three years, is tragic and magnificent, and has written the heroic achievements.

Over the past 50 years, the people of Kuandian have been deeply nostalgic for Mao anying and his volunteers who died on the Korean battlefield. In memory of the achievements of anying and carrying forward the heroic spirit. At the beginning of the 20th century, Kuandian County Party committee and government decided to build a Mao anying school and a Mao anying memorial hall here to comfort the heroes and educate future generations.
