Xilingyan Temple

It is an ancient temple, built in the first year of Jiaqing (1806). At first, it was a simple thatched cottage building, which had been renovated and expanded many times before it reached its present scale. The reconstruction was completed in 1991. It is more magnificent than before, but it has lost the primitive and simple appearance of the tableland.

Xilingyan temple, also known as Buddha Temple, worships Guanyin Bodhisattva. It is an ancient temple, which was built in the first year of Jiaqing (1806). At first, it was a simple thatched cottage building, which had been renovated and expanded many times before it reached its present scale. The reconstruction was completed in 1991. It is more magnificent than before, but it has lost the primitive and simple appearance of the tableland.

Xilingyan Temple tableland is located in daxili of Yilan City. During the Japanese occupation period, it was moved to the present site of Gongliao, which is one of the most famous temples along the northeast coast. There is a unique couplet in front of the hall. The first couplet is Qijian, and the second couplet is Qiqi. This couplet allows tourists to enlighten themselves with wisdom. Although the temple is located near the remote coastal road, its believers are all over the place, and there is constant incense in the four seasons. In front of the temple are 18 statues of arhat, all donated by believers one after another. The 18 statues are made of concrete, but the craftsmanship is incomparable
