Menglong Department

Mengnong department is located in Panzhihua township government, 20 kilometers south of Yuanyang County. It was built in the Republic of China. Menglong Department covers an area of about 8000 square meters, three courtyards, three patios, two floors, brick, stone, wood structure, hard peak building, the gate plaque engraved with the hereditary Menglong department. The whole complex is surrounded by high and thick stone walls. Mengnong department is divided into four levels: the chief, the commander, the master, the housekeeper, the general manager, yuetou, the warden and so on. The courtyard on the back floor is occupied by the family of the chieftain. All around Mengnong department are surrounded by mountains, with towering ancient trees and magnificent scenery. To enter the first gate, you have to go up 126 steps. At present, there are only steps, gate and two ear buildings in the two gates. In 1983, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture.

Menglong Department

The whole complex is surrounded by high and thick stone walls. Mengnong department is divided into four levels of housing: the chief, the head, the master, the housekeeper, the general manager, yuetou and the warden. The rear courtyard is occupied by the family of the chieftain.

Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture is located in Yunnan Guizhou Plateau in South Yunnan. There are limestone mountains, plateaus, valleys, dam areas, hills and other landforms in the prefecture. The altitude drop is large and the terrain is extremely complex. The region has abundant precipitation, sufficient light, small annual temperature difference, humid climate and monsoon climate, which mainly belongs to subtropical plateau monsoon climate.

As the Tropic of cancer crosses the state, the temperature and humidity in the state increase with the decrease of latitude from north to south, showing the characteristics of hot and humid. The rainy season in Honghe Prefecture is mainly from May to October, and the frost period is from late November to January and February of the next year. Therefore, to travel in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, we should avoid the summer and autumn when it is hot and rainy, and the best time is from March to April and from September to November when the light is mild and the rainfall is less.
