More than 30 kilometers east of Xilinhot, there is a vast land with rich water and grass, which is the famous Inner Mongolia Grassland Nature Reserve Baiyinxile.

brief introduction

Baiyinxile pasture was founded in 1950, covering an area of 3730 square kilometers. It is located 55 kilometers southeast of Xilinhot City, Xilin Gol League. It is a national nature reserve. Its horses and sheep are well-known fine breeds, and its management and scientific and technological level are high. Wild animals and plants are numerous and are the essence of grassland ecology in Inner Mongolia. Baiyinxile grassland ecotourism area is a typical grassland, with abundant water and grass, luxuriant vegetation, complete vegetation types and rich wildlife resources. The Chinese Academy of Sciences has set up a "grassland ecosystem positioning research station" here to carry out scientific research. This region is recognized as a typical grassland model in Eurasia, and experts and scholars from home and abroad come to do scientific research every year. Xilingol Grassland Nature Reserve, with Baiyinxile grassland as its core area, is a member of the international biosphere protection network under UNESCO. Not far from the East Bank of the lake, there is a mysterious primeval forest, which is the famous Picea forest. This sandy spruce forest covers an area of 60000 square meters, with more than 1000 trees growing. Picea mongolica is a rare tree species, which is very rare in the natural forest in northern China. Picea mongolica is a rare tree species in the world, which is called "biological gene bank" and "living fossil" by scientists. Picea mongolica is 28 meters high and its age is generally over 100 years. Tree like tower, rod red, green leaves, evergreen all year round, momentum tall and straight. At present, the spruce forest in the reserve, the highest of which is 20 meters, is the only remaining evergreen coniferous forest in Xilinguole grassland. Some botanists call it a new tree species Mongolian spruce.

history

"Chugulan Oboo" is Mongolian, which means "memorial post of alliance". According to the records, from 1641 to 1667, the five ministries and ten banners of Xilinguole held a grand OBO memorial ceremony and "Nadam" to celebrate, hence the name. She is 25 kilometers south of Xilinhot. Now, every year on the memorial day of May 21 in the lunar calendar, there are grand sacrificial activities. At that time, grassland herdsmen will connect the 13 OBOS with colorful wool ropes, and then offer sacrifices such as cheese, milk wine or sheep's head to pray for disaster and express their feelings. Baiyinxile pasture was founded in 1950. Approved by the State Council of the people's Republic of China in 1997, it became the first National Grassland Nature Reserve in China. In 2001, it was listed as one of the "five top tourist attractions" by Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Racecourse

There are good conditions for raising horses, excellent horses, and some experts in horse training and horse racing. Horse racing is held once a year, which is called "horse culture festival". The scenic spot is located 10 kilometers to the west of the ranch. At present, the fence has been initially built, and it is planned to introduce and breed wild yellow sheep and deer. It can provide a place for hunting enthusiasts.

Natural poplar birch forest

Natural poplar birch forest, which is about 4 km away from zagestanur, forest area of more than 60 square kilometers, is a natural secondary forest. The shady slope is dominated by Populus, Betula platyphylla, apricot and other mixed trees, with high grass, dense forest and forest waves; the sunny slope is dominated by wild hawthorn, whose leaves turn red every autumn, and the layers of forest are all dyed. According to the research, this area was once connected with the vast forest sea of Daxing'an Mountains in ancient times. Later, due to forest fires, climate change and other reasons, only its remnant forest is left. Therefore, this area has high protection, scientific research and ornamental value.

Ecological positioning station

The grassland ecological positioning station of Chinese Academy of Sciences was founded in 1979. Every year, many experts and scholars from home and abroad come here to carry out scientific research on grassland science. Grassland ecological positioning station has a variety of laboratories and field ecological sample plots of soil, plants, insects, etc. There is a special exhibition hall and exhibition room for animal and plant specimens. To visit here, you can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery of grassland nature, cultivate sentiment and purify the soul, but also learn a lot of botanical knowledge from planting through the introduction of the majority of scientific research personnel, so as to help people better understand the grassland. Baiyinxile grassland ecotourism area not only has endless grassland landscape, but also brings together a large number of places of interest, just like stars all over the sky, adding infinite cultural charm to the charming grassland. There are "grassland Great Wall" Genghis Khan side wall, there are "Liao Dynasty border fort" square city, there are haoletuyinsumo and briyatsumo two sacred Lama temples.

There is a bus from Xilinhot to the ranch every two hours. It takes one hour and the fare is 5 yuan.
