Daguang temple, located in the center of the palace, is the first of the four famous temples in Liuyang (Daguang temple, Daowu temple, Shishuang temple and baogaidong Temple). Shichuangshan, the site of the temple, is the first of the four famous mountains.

The temple was built in the Jin Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty, declined in the early Ming Dynasty, and burned in the war during the great revolution in the 19th year of the Republic of China. The site is still there, and can be restored to its original appearance. Daguang is divided into three halls, the front, the middle and the back, with a mountain gate in the front and the remains; the front hall has a half moon pond, the middle hall displays many Arhats, and the back hall is the Guanyin hall, which is now the Guanyin Temple (rebuilt in the 1980s). The whole temple covers an area of more than 30 mu. The second ancestor of the Tang Dynasty, old master Hua, was once the famous Abbot here. Daguang temple is the place for monks and Taoist officials to promote Buddhism in Liuyang's four famous temples, big and small temples, and Pingjiang area. At its peak, thousands of people listened to Buddhism here. There is a bell and Drum Tower in the temple. The big bell is made of pig iron. It is about 2 meters high and 1.5 meters in diameter at the bottom of the bell. It is a pity that it was destroyed during the cultural revolution. Daguang temple is a magnificent building with carved beams and painted buildings. Behind the mountain and around the towering ancient trees, shade block out the sun, later destroyed. Only the ancient Podocarpus arvensis in front of Guanyin temple is still growing well.
