Deshengyan is located in Houzhai street in the north of Yiwu City. It is also called Houyan because of its thick mountains. In 621, Yiwu was called Chouzhou, hence its name. There is a temple on deshengyan, formerly known as helingxing temple. It was built in the early Yuan Dynasty in memory of Hu Ze, the Minister of the Ministry of war of the Song Dynasty. Scholars came in droves, leaving behind many poems about the wind and the moon.

Hugong Temple

Of course, deshengyan is most famous for its temples. Hugong temple on the mountain enjoys a high level of incense all the year round, almost comparable to the Hugong temple in Fangyan, Yongkang. According to legend, the old temple on deshengyan is called "helingxing Temple". It was built in the early Yuan Dynasty and is also a temple commemorating Hu Ze, the Minister of war of the Southern Song Dynasty.

However, when it comes to the Hugong temple on Desheng rock, any visitor who has been to Desheng rock will be surprised to find a very strange phenomenon. On the mountain top of deshengyan, where the area is not large, there are two Hugong temples with courtyard walls. It is commonly known as "Zuo Hu Gong" and "you Hu Gong". The two Hugong temples belong to two different temple management committees. Within a short distance, which of the two same "Hu Gong Da Di" is the true God? It's hard to kill many ordinary people who come to offer sacrifices to Buddha.

Every year on the Double Ninth Festival, people in Yiwu and nearby counties and cities go to deshengyan to climb mountains. It's the busiest time of the year in deshengyan. The Double Ninth Festival begins with the custom of climbing high. In the golden autumn and September, the sky is high and the air is clear. This season, climbing high and looking far can achieve the purpose of relaxing, keeping fit and eliminating diseases.
