Kaiming Temple

Kaiming temple is one of the cultural landscapes in Jianglang Mountain. The temple was built in the Northern Song Dynasty in 1080 ad. At present, there are more than 120 statues of Bodhisattvas and Buddhas, which are full of incense. There are more than ten thousand worshippers on the Dragon Boat Festival every year. The construction of the temple originated from a true story: in 944 ad, Yiyan, an eminent monk of the Five Dynasties, settled at the stone gate of the rock niche in Jianglang Mountain. A year later, he returned to the world with plain hair and red face. The king of Wu and Yue gave him the title of "Kaiming Zen master". Later, people built temples under his name.
