brief introduction

Molanghu island is irregular polygon, northwest southeast trend, 3 km long, 0.7-1.7 km wide, land area of 2.85 square kilometers, coastline of 16.03 km long, the highest point of fenjidougang elevation of 166.8 meters. The island is slightly semicircular in shape, with mountain mouth on both sides, extending like a weasel (commonly known as weasel). On the front of the island, the water in Ao is small and calm like a lake, so it is called weasel lake.

Historical evolution

In the Qing Dynasty, the island had been settled. During the Republic of China, the island belonged to zhamen township of Qushan. In 1953, 1962 and 1984, rat wave township (commune) was successively built on the island. At present, there are three administrative villages and six natural villages. In 2000, there were 760 households with 2209 residents.
