Located in linli village, Yinying Town, the suburb of Yangquan City, the Guanwang Temple of Yuquan mountain was first built in 1072, the fifth year of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty, and rebuilt in 1122, the fourth year of Xuanhe in the Northern Song Dynasty. Covering an area of 7000 square meters, the temple is located in the southwest and faces northeast, facing linli village across the river in the north. The temple is divided into inner and outer courtyards, with the main hall as the main body. It consists of Xian hall, guomenma hall, North and South Auxiliary hall, gallery, stage, Mountain Gate, Zhongshu memorial archway, luojian Pavilion, Yinma Pavilion, etc., forming a typical pure wood structure building group in Song Dynasty. In 1996, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council. In 1997, it was designated as a provincial moral education base. In 1999, it was officially opened to the outside world on May 13 of the lunar calendar. In December 2001, it passed the assessment and acceptance of the AA scenic spot of Shanxi Provincial Tourism Administration, becoming the first AA scenic spot in our region.

Basic introduction

Guanwang temple, also known as Guandi temple, commonly known as Laoye temple, is located on the South Yuquan mountainside of linli village, Baiquan Township, the suburb of Yangquan City. Guanwang temple was built in 1072, the fifth year of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is the earliest memorial building among thousands of Guandi temples in China. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit. It is said that the Guanwang temple was built when Luban master appeared. After the completion of the temple, superhuman architectural skills such as "sawing foam pillars", "cutting rafters" and "the size inside and outside is generally large" appeared in the main hall. This interesting architectural legend adds a more mysterious color to the Guanwang temple. It covers an area of nearly 7000 square meters and is divided into two courtyards. With the main hall of Guanwang as the main body, the building is composed of Xian hall, guomenma hall, North and South Auxiliary hall, gallery, stage, gate, Zhongshu memorial archway, luojian Pavilion, Yinma Pavilion, etc. it is a well arranged and magnificent wooden building group with certain historical, artistic and scientific value in Song Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.

present situation

The existing main hall was rebuilt in 1122. The architectural style of the whole temple follows the style of the Tang Dynasty, and most of them keep the architectural norms in the Song Dynasty's "building fashi", which is a treasure of ancient architecture. Guan Gong's golden face statue is majestic and dignified.
