Gongsa Temple

Gongsa temple is located on the slope of Jiaji anyigabao, 9 kilometers west of Zhiduo County, Yushu prefecture, Qinghai Province, with an altitude of 4300 meters. It was founded in the 12th century by qiujie Cicheng Bang Ba, a disciple of badamawangxiu, the founder of bagagu sect, which resulted in the reincarnation system of qiujie living Buddha.

The second qiujiesuonanzaba expanded the temple and converted it to Zhigong Kagyu sect. In the 15th century, the fifth Dalai angwangluoyingjiacuo converted the temple into a Gelug temple. In 1981, the temple moved from the old site of naobuwang River in the north of Zhiduo county to the new site.

Under the leadership of the 19th qiujie qiangbatudingelaijiacuo living Buddha (now the deputy director of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, who had obtained the degree of Rajan bagsi and had learned a lot), it built the Sutra hall, Maitreya hall, Tantric and Dharma protection temple, living Buddha's dormitory and other buildings. There are countless Buddhist scriptures such as ganzhur and danzhur in the temple. The temple has established public welfare facilities such as Tibetan medicine clinics and primary schools. In three years, gongsa and others invested more than 18 million yuan in the construction of zongkaba longevity bronze gilded statue and Buddha Hall with the strong support of donors at home and abroad. The temple is 33 meters high with a construction area of more than 700 square meters. The bronze Buddha is 27 meters high and contains a large number of scriptures and precious objects. This huge gold-plated bronze statue, with exquisite workmanship and vivid image, is the largest indoor bronze statue of master zongkaba worshipped in the Gelug monastery. Zongkaba Buddha Hall has been listed as a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Qinghai Province.
