Tianjun Shijing Temple

Tianjun Shijing temple was built in 1957. On the stone slab, 108 Tibetan Guanjiao sutras, 200 solemn sutras and 324 Buddha statues are engraved. The stone Sutra wall is a square Sutra courtyard with a height of 2 meters, a width of 1 meter and a circumference of 320 meters. The whole engraving line is clear, neat and elegant, elegant and fluent; the composition of the characters is accurate, the lines are natural and fine, and the dynamic and static expressions are different, which has the characteristics of Tibetan Buddhism art modeling and high cultural relic value.

Introduction to scenic spots

The largest stone wall is on the right side of the Sutra hall. It is 165 meters long. The Scripture is the world famous Buddhist Scripture ganzhur. At the east end of the Sutra wall is a 9-meter-long, 9-meter-wide and 10 meter-high Sutra pier. The Sutra engraved is the world-famous Buddhist Scripture danjul. There is another stone wall on the east side of jingdun, and the Scriptures are engraved 108 times for taduo. To the west of the largest stone Scripture wall, there is a stone Scripture wall 15 meters long, 1.30-1.58 meters wide and 1.2 meters high. There are 17 kinds of scriptures.

The whole shijingyuan is composed of four parts: "Ganzhuer shijingyuan", "Shilun pagoda", "Shijing niche" and "juguo Changming lamp". The main building shijingyuan faces south and is composed of four stone walls and gate. Besides the stone sutras, there are many niches and Buddha statues carved on stone slabs. On the open space in the center of shijingyuan, there is a tall Shilun pagoda built with shijingban. This pagoda has a peculiar appearance and elegant style. The top of the pagoda is composed of stone wheel, moon and sun. The body of the pagoda is rectangular. There is a small underground palace under the base of the pagoda. In front of the Shilun pagoda, there is a huge pot, and the butter lamp is always on.

Stone Carving

The inscriptions on the stone Sutra are clear and neat, the fonts are elegant, the strokes are smooth and vigorous. The composition of stone pictures and various figures is accurate, the proportion is appropriate, and the carving lines are natural and exquisite.

The scriptures of Tianjun Shijing temple are stone tablets carried by herdsmen from the stone mountains tens of miles away. More than 80 craftsmen have spent five years to complete the carving of 108 Tibetan scriptures of ganzhur and danzhur. The total amount of scriptures is 1936 cubic meters. Each tablet is about 1 foot square and thick. The carved Scriptures are clear and beautiful.

The stone inscriptions of Tianjun Shijing Temple mainly include Buddha, Bodhisattva, disciple, donor and so on. Stone carvings have obvious Buddhist characteristics in plastic arts, simple and unsophisticated techniques, and different expressions of the characters, which fully demonstrate the intelligence and artistic talent of the Tibetan people. They not only have high ornamental value, but also have important research value in the study of Tibetan calligraphy art and Tibetan Buddhism history.
