Lumanggou rock painting is located in the southwest of Tianpeng Township, Tianjun county. The gully is southeast northwest. There is Xining Tianjun highway crossing the gully. There are high mountains on both sides of the gully. There are many grasses between mountains and valleys. It is a good natural pasture. About 4km away from the gully, there is a stone hill on the east side. At the root of the stone hill are big stones falling from the collapse of the mountain. There is a layer of oil black and shiny oxidation surface on the surface of these stones. Rock paintings are made on these big stones. There are three places in total, which are carved on three big stones with flat stone surface not far away from each other.

There are more than 50 animal portraits carved on a 9 square meter stone on the north side, including cattle, horses, goats, wild boars and foxes. Some animals are also carved with different shapes such as "ten thousand" and "mother". The shapes and sizes of the pictures are different. The longest one is about 0.30 meters, the height is about 0.20 meters, and the smallest one is 0.05 meters long. The picture is vivid and the animals are dynamic; one in the middle is located on the south side of the first place, covering an area of about 7 square meters, with 7 animal portraits, including cattle, sheep, donkey, tiger and fox, generally about 0.06-0.25 meters long and 0.05-0.15 meters high; the other is located on the south side, covering an area of only 3 square meters, with 21 animal portraits, taking camels as the object, with the same head direction, showing camels in the sand In addition, there are horses, cows, goats, big headed sheep, snakes and so on.

There are two main carving methods in the three rock paintings: one is to carve the outline of animal limbs with a flat chisel or a sharp chisel to sketch the animal image; the other is to carve the outline of the whole body with a sharp chisel to form a slightly shallow shadow carving picture. Lumanggou rock paintings are all animal images with various forms and grand scenes. They are relics of the Tang Dynasty. They were announced as provincial cultural relics protection units in 1988.

The producer expressed the concept of "invisible" reproduction with "visible" copulation, which implied vague and profound meaning.
