Beistill Village

Beistill village is a beautiful village built by Jiaji Town, Qionghai City, Hainan Province according to the requirements of Qionghai municipal Party committee and government. Beistill village is located in the core area of Guantang group, the three major groups in Qionghai City, 8 kilometers away from the urban area, adjacent to Guantang hot spring, Wanquan River and BAISHILING scenic spot, enjoying unique location and resource advantages. Beistill village, with a total area of 585 Mu and a total of 48 households and 158 people, mainly relied on rubber, betel nut, pepper and other tropical crops for economic development. After beistill village was built into a beautiful rural farmhouse, it played a unique role in improving the function of Guantang group leisure, sports and health tourism, and also found a way for local residents to get rich.

In November 2017, beistill village was awarded the fifth national civilized village.

Old village

Beistill village is one of the eight villager groups of Guantang village committee in Jiaji town of Qionghai City. Originally, it mainly relied on planting rubber, betel nut, pepper and other tropical crops to develop its economy, but its economy was relatively backward. In order to make a living, villagers have to go out to work one after another. However, beistill village has a certain historical and cultural accumulation, rich in the flavor of life, especially in Guantang hot spring resort in Qionghai, which often attracts tourists from around to stay.

Planning and transformation

In 2013, with the in-depth development of the construction of "beautiful countryside", Qionghai city began to build beistill village into the third scenic spot of the top ten rural tourism scenic spots Guantang rural tourism typical leisure demonstration area. The basic idea is to rely on the surrounding Red Detachment of women Memorial Park, Guantang hot spring resort and BAISHILING scenic spot to promote rural tourism. To this end, Qionghai City invited experts from the Design Institute of Tsinghua University to investigate the appearance of the village, and made a detailed planning for the layout of the village.

According to the development strategy of "Garden City, happy Qionghai" and the construction requirements of "beautiful countryside" of "scientific planning and layout, clean and tidy village environment, entrepreneurship and income increase, and rural civilization quality", and adhering to the new urbanization principle of "three not one" (no cutting trees, no occupying land, no demolishing houses, and on-site urbanization), beistill village improves the natural landscape and digs through integration With the layout of idyllic scenery, folk customs, cultural relics, farming culture, local diet and hot spring recuperation, beistill village will be built into a beautiful village suitable for living, industry and tourism, a happy home for farmers, a rural park for citizens and a holiday paradise for tourists.

Since the start of construction in May 2014, beistill village has completed the 8 km long greenway around the village, 920 m roadway and 300 m retaining wall on the basis of the original rigid road around the village. After the completion, the village is still the village, the tree is still the tree, and the person is still the person. Although the pattern has changed, the internal structure has not changed. The specific projects include a series of beautiful country cards with nostalgic flavor, such as riding Green Island in the Third Ring Road, homesickness farmhouse, courtyard time homestay, caoliao coffee house, beistill book house, beistill living room, heavy education home, scholarly family, etc. visitors can feel the artistic conception of "there is a kind of happiness called Qionghai, a kind of taste called Jiaji, and a kind of nostalgia called beistill" when riding in the village.

Transformation of farmers

The construction of beautiful countryside has promoted the popularity of beistill village and brought business opportunities everywhere. Many beistill villagers who go out to work begin to return to their hometown in succession to "panning for gold". For example, Wang Qiuxiang, who had worked in Shenzhen for 17 years, resolutely quit her stable job and returned to Beishang village to open "caoliniao coffee" and "working girl" turned into "boss lady". Another example is that Wang Liqiang, a villager, gave up his career of working hard outside for many years and set up a "nostalgic taste" leisure farmhouse which integrates catering, accommodation, fitness and experience. Wang Liqiang also bought vegetables and poultry raised by villagers themselves at a price higher than the market price, and absorbed local villagers to come to work, bringing the agricultural transformation of beistill village alive.

Beistill village through the whole group of villagers "package" up development, business income every villager can enjoy dividends. Take "nostalgic taste" farmhouse as an example. Except for 52% of the shares held by the operators, the remaining 48% of the shares are controlled by the villagers. The dividends every three months become the fixed income of the villagers. Villagers working in homesickness farmhouse not only earn 1700 yuan a month, but also sell their own vegetables and chickens to farmhouse to increase their income. Many villagers who have been working outside for many years have returned home to work and start businesses. 80% of the villagers participate in rural tourism projects, and farmers start businesses at their own door, which can not only increase their income and become rich, but also realize the integrated development of agriculture and tourism.

In 2014, the per capita annual income of beistill village reached 12000 yuan. Half a year after the construction of beautiful rural scenic spots was started, the per capita income of villagers increased by 2000 yuan.

It's famous all over the country

Beistill village has rapidly become a business card of Hainan rural tourism. Since the opening of reception in September 2014, more than 70000 tourists from all over the country have visited this unknown village in less than half a year.

On March 28, 2015, Mrs. Xi Jinping, President of the State Council, invited Peng Liyuan, a member of the foreign leaders of the Boao forum for Asia, to visit the Hainan village.

. For a moment, this small village became famous and quickly became a dazzling star in Hainan Island. Tourists from all over the country come here not far away to taste a cup of "lady's coffee" and remember a bay of shallow nostalgia.

In 2015, beistill village was selected as the most beautiful leisure village in China by the Ministry of agriculture.

You can get off the Wanshi interchange at the East Line Expressway and go to Guantang village to BAISHILING. Next to the road is the sign of beistill village. Follow the walking instructions to get there.

Cyclists

The terrain of beistill village is high and low, and the third ring riding Green Island is very suitable for cycling exercise. For example, the yuquanzhuang project, a star rated hotel in Guantang District, demolishes the wall originally built outside the hotel and integrates with beistill village, so that tourists to beistill village want to go to yuquanzhuang and those who live in yuquanzhuang want to go to beistill village.

In the next development blueprint of beistill village, it is a new development goal to further improve the infrastructure, build a rural tourism and leisure area based on Guantang hot spring resort and BAISHILING scenic area, combine with the real estate projects near Guantang, improve the income of farmers, and promote the tourism development of surrounding villages, and create a surrounding leisure tourism destination.
