Huashan Forest Park is located in the Northwest Mountain Area of Laiwu District, Jinan City, Shandong Province. It is a branch of Mount Tai, more than 30 kilometers away from the center of the district. The park is divided into three scenic spots, namely Bailongtan scenic spot, dazhouyuan scenic spot and yongninggu scenic spot. Huashan National Forest Park is a national 2A tourist area. The highest point in the west is Xiangshan, 918.7 meters above sea level, which is the highest mountain in the city. The highest point in the East is Dashan, 823 meters above sea level. The park is rich in species resources, with more than 200 kinds of arbors belonging to 50 families, forming nearly 4000 hectares of forest dominated by evergreen forest, with a forest coverage rate of 87%. The dense forest resources create a good ecological environment for the habitat and reproduction of various wild animals.

Development history

The total area of the park is 46 square kilometers. There are 96 mountains and gullies, 25 of which are above 700 meters above sea level. The highest point in the west is Xiangshan, 918.7 meters above sea level, which is the highest mountain in the region. The highest point in the East is Dashan, 823 meters above sea level. The park was approved as a provincial forest park by the provincial forestry department in December 1998 and a national forest park by the State Forestry Administration in December 2003. The park is located in the warm temperate continental monsoon climate zone, with four distinct seasons, the same period of rain and heat, and obvious dry and wet. After years of enclosure, the park is rich in species resources. There are 170 species of birds belonging to 11 orders and 29 families, and 19 species of mammals belonging to 7 orders and 11 families. The microclimate in the forest area is characterized by warm winter and cool summer, fresh air and pleasant climate. The temperature in summer is 5-8 ℃ lower than that in urban area, so it is an ideal place for summer vacation.

The theme of the park is forest landscape, with Cangshan peak as the skeleton, Qingxi and Bitan as the vein. The park is dotted with cultural landscape, with undulating mountains, ravines, pines and cypresses, and many strange stones.

Main attractions

The park is divided into three scenic spots, namely Bailongtan scenic spot, dazhouyuan scenic spot and yongninggu scenic spot. Bailongtan scenic spot is a famous landscape in Laiwu City. It has been called "eight treasures Laiwu County, two black and white Longtan" since ancient times. Bailongtan Valley has a north-south trend. On one side of the valley, the stone walls stand upright against the pines and cypresses. On the other side, the terrain is flat and wide, covered by trees. The recreational space is good and the natural scenery is beautiful. It takes three pools of Bailongtan as the central landscape, and Zhaobi mountain, Tianqi slide, pearl string of Longtan, Bailong temple, Guanlong Pavilion, xuejingshan and youth forest as the auxiliary landscape.

Dazhouyuan scenic spot

Located on the sunny slope of the mountain, the area is named because of the undulating stone courtyard wall along the mountains, which looks like a boat. There are steep mountains, deep valleys, dense forests, beautiful scenery and elegant environment in the area. There are Zhigong hall ruins, ancient trees and famous trees in the area. The main scenic spots are: dazhouyuanmen, tianshuiquan, Songlin oxygen bar, Jilin Jinran, Zhigong hall, Millennium ginkgo, etc.

Yongning Gu scenic spot

Located in the southeast of the park, the terrain is relatively gentle, with mountains, gentle land, reservoirs, trees and fruit trees. Yongninggu (also known as xiaotai mountain) is its central scenic spot. With its superior geographical conditions and elegant natural environment, the park attracts literati, religious believers and dignitaries to visit and settle here, recite poems and inscriptions, leaving many relics and myths. Dazhouyuan, Zhigong hall, Bailong temple, Heilong temple, yongninggu and other historic sites have a history of hundreds or even thousands of years.

Tourism information

The park is 30 kilometers away from Laicheng, and it takes about 40 minutes by car. In Laiwu City, you can take the bus from Laicheng to Huashan forest farm or from Laiwu to Dawangzhuang or Da Huaishu.
