Great white pagoda

Dabai pagoda is a Buddhist relic pagoda, which is 56.3 meters high, 20.4 meters higher than Beihai Pagoda in Beijing. It is white in color. It was built in 1407 A.D. in Dade of the Yuan Dynasty. It is a solid pagoda made of brick and stone structure. It consists of four parts: top, top, body and base.

Introduction to white tower

From the top to the bottom, the top point of the Dabai pagoda is the spire. There are 12 water wheels on it, which means it is the Buddha relic pagoda. We often hear a saying that "saving one life is better than building a seven level putu". Here, putu is the meaning of the pagoda. Seven levels refer to the seven water wheels on the spire. In Buddhism, level 7 is the fruit of arhat. Buddhism is divided into six paths, and the top fruit is arhat in turn, Bodhisattva, Buddha!

Arhat only attains the fruit of "self-consciousness", that is to say, he can only get rid of the sea of bitterness by his own consciousness, while Bodhisattva means "self-consciousness, self-awareness", which means that he can realize himself and help others to get rid of the sea of bitterness!

Buddha's "perfect practice" means that his practice has reached the highest level! Counting the water wheels on the top of the pagoda, you can tell the fruit position of the master when he was living. If 12 circles are the fruit position of the Buddha relic tower and the Buddha, if 9 circles are the fruit position of the Bodhisattva, if 7 circles are the fruit position of the Luohan!

Historical records

According to the Buddhist scriptures, after the death of Sakyamuni, a total of 84000 relics were unearthed. The underground palace of this pagoda is the relic of the Buddha's head, which is very precious. Therefore, this pagoda is also called "Sakyamuni relic pagoda"!

Below the top of the pagoda is a round pagoda, which looks like an inverted bowl. The Buddhist scriptures call it a bowl. Therefore, the pagoda is also called "Fu Bo type pagoda" and "Fu" means upside down! Below the body of the tower is a square base, under which is the underground palace where the relic is placed!

There are 123 Falun around the tower. Falun is used by Shifu in Tibet to chant scriptures. There are six words of Guanyin Bodhisattva on it. The scriptures say that if these six words are hidden at home, written at the door and touched by the hand, they can turn misfortune into good fortune and become good fortune!

Great significance

There are many small copper wind bells on the tower. The number is 252. Two plus five plus two is exactly 9. 9 is the auspicious number in Buddhism, which means "nine to one" and "nine to true"!
