Taipingyan scenic spot is located in the middle and lower reaches of Nanxi River, namely the entrance of Nanxi River scenic spot. It mainly includes the landscape of Shatou Town, Doumen Township, Qukou Township and other areas, with a total area of 90.79 square kilometers.

At the entrance of the scenic spot, there is a strong Chinese character "getting better" inscribed by the late calligraphy master Mr. Sha Menghai. Taipingyan River cliffs, green trees shade, Qifeng Lin Li, Qishi towering, chic shape of the Hu palace hidden in the shade, in the clouds shrouded in the looming, fascinating.

In front of the stone steps is the gate of taipingyan mountain, which stands between the two bamboo shoots. The surrounding haze is ethereal, which makes people feel like stepping into the fairyland Yaolin. The couplets on the Mountain Gate make people feel cordial. There are steep steps in front of the mountain gate. In the middle of the steps, there is a huge stone named "zhutouyan". Passing through zhutouyan, it is the Hu palace.

Hu Gong hall, also known as yutianliao, was first built in Tianqi period of Ming Dynasty (1621-1627), and the existing one was rebuilt in 1894. The main hall is simple and elegant, with a huge cliff at the back as its support. The pure and beautiful Nanxi River flows quietly from the front, and the overhanging eaves of the temple looms between the trees and bamboo shadows, like a fairy house or a paradise.
