Qilin Lake

Qilin lake, formerly known as Dashui cave and lotus pond, is a 13 hectare artificial lake surrounded by mountains on three sides in Yonglong village, Lugu Township, Nantou County, Taiwan.

During the Tongzhi period, people of Quanzhou surnamed Qiu and Dong built dams to store water for irrigation. In 1974, Jiang Jingguo, then the premier, visited the countryside and renamed the lake Qilin.
