Lin Department Store

Lin Department store was the only department store with modern elevator equipment in Tainan, Taiwan before World War II, commonly known as wulouzai. Together with Juyuan department store located in Rongting, Taipei, it was known as the two major department stores during the Japanese occupation period.

Lin Department Store (Japanese: Lin Bai store, Lin Pei store), which was declared as a historic site by Tainan Municipal Government on June 26, 1998. The renovation of Lin Department store started on January 7, 2010 and is scheduled to be completed in January 2013.
