folk culture
Kejijiangcuo, also known as Fahai living Buddha, was born in 1920 in Muli County, Sichuan Province. When he was three years old, he was recognized as the reincarnation of the third generation of Curie in Curie temple, Kangding City, Sichuan Province. At the age of 12, he went to Lhasa Drepung temple for further study. At that time, transportation was extremely inconvenient. After a long journey with his companions, he finally arrived at the Drepung temple. Under the strict professor of Confucian classics, Curie worked tirelessly and made outstanding achievements. At the age of only 19, he obtained the highest degree in Tibetan Buddhism, namely "lhangba" gexi, and was respected by monks and laymen.
After returning to Curie temple from Lhasa, Curie went to Chaya in Changdu, Zhongdian in Yunnan, Yading in Daocheng and Xiangcheng in Ganzi to preach scriptures. Wherever he went, he was warmly welcomed. In Buddhist activities, regardless of ethnic groups and sects, he warmly received believers and treated them equally. Believers in the Han nationality region affectionately called him "living Buddha of Fahai in Xikang.".
The living Buddha of Fahai in Xikang passed away at the age of 74 on November 17, 1995 (December 19, 1994). Among the cremated ashes, there are 18 relics, including three in the form of conch and characters. After the death of Fahai living Buddha in Xikang, Ganzi Prefecture government allocated more than 2 million yuan to build a pagoda for Fahai living Buddha in Xikang. In the pagoda, his bed (the bed for chanting sutras) is the spirit of Fahai living Buddha.
