Laoshikan reservoir is located in Xitiaoxi, Anji County, Zhejiang Province, with an area of 272 square kilometers. It was started in August 1958 and completed in March 1970.

Key project

(1) The dam is a sand shell dam with clay core. The maximum dam height is 36.9 meters, the crest elevation is 126.4 meters, the crest length is 560 meters, and the crest width is 6.0 meters

(2) Discharge structure:

A normal spillway gate is of medium outlet type, with bottom elevation of 98m, breast bottom elevation of 107.0m, net width of orifice of 18m, installation of flat steel gate of 3-69m and maximum discharge of 2320s.1m.

B extraordinary spillway, self breaking, with crest elevation of 120m, width of 50 × 2 + 60 = 160m and maximum discharge of 3168srm.

C the flood diversion sluice is of deep hole type, with the crest elevation of 111.0m, the bottom elevation of breast wall of 116.8m, the net width of crest of 77m, a radial gate of 7.7 × 5.8m installed, and the maximum discharge of 400m.

D water conveyance tunnel, with a section of 7.07 square meters, an inlet bottom elevation of 100 meters, a maximum discharge of 32.0 second cubic meters, and an installed capacity of 1860 kW. The reservoir is mainly for flood control, combined with irrigation and power generation, and designed according to the 50 year return period flood; the 500 year return period flood is checked, and the dam protection measures are set according to the p.m.p flood check. The design flood level is 123.1m, the check flood level is 124.5m and the dam protection flood level is 125.6m.

The total storage capacity is 117 million cubic meters, the designed normal water level is 114.5 meters, the corresponding storage capacity is 42.5 million cubic meters, and the irrigation area is 45000 mu.

Tourism development

Laoshikan reservoir is the largest lake at the source of Huangpu River system. The Ministry of water resources of the people's Republic of China officially awarded it as "National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot", which is characterized by "green, cool, clear and clean", and is a good place for outdoor activities.
