Fozi Mountain

Fozi mountain is the highest peak of Tianmen Mountain, the remnant of Dahong mountain, with an altitude of 192.5 meters. It is located in Fozi mountain town, Tianmen City, Hubei Province. If the weather is fine, the Fozi mountain can be seen within the radius of 11 kilometers.

Fozi mountain is the most towering peak in Tianmen and even Jianghan Plain. It was formed about 1.5 million years ago due to geological changes. Together with the mountains in Zhongxiang City and Jingshan County of Hubei Province, it forms the Jianghan Valley hills with low altitude. It is an important part of the hills in central Hubei Province, but it still belongs to the plain in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

In the flat Jianghan Plain, mount Fozi has sprung up. It is located 22 kilometers northwest of Jingling City, Tianmen City, Hubei Province. The mountain group consists of five peaks of Fozi mountain, Jinbei mountain, Tuanshan mountain, puchuan mountain and Longwei mountain, covering an area of 931.9 hectares and 192 meters above sea level. The whole mountain is east-west, sitting north to south, five mountains head and tail, shape like jade Ruyi, beautiful mountain, lush forest, pleasant climate, convenient transportation. The feather pond at the foot of Fozi mountain covers an area of about two hectares. The water is clear, rippling and swimming with fish and shrimp. On the top of Fozi mountain, there are relics of Buddha Temple, including Sakyamuni's throne and black jade, ancient trenches on the hillside, marshal platform on the southeast slope, scenic spots on Jinbei mountain, such as Luzi reading place, Luyu spring, Luyu Pavilion and Luyu temple. Four scenic spots (tea sage Lu Yu studied in Zou Fuzi in Tianmen Mountain when he was young) line up, as well as qinshougang where Han Guangwu rested, and legends on Longwei mountain The beautiful tiger Cave (where the state of Chu ordered Yin Ziwen to be born, the tiger fed him with tiger milk, and later Ziwen made great achievements), huxiaogang, and the whole scenic area are rich in natural and cultural landscape.
