Cao Gongqiao
Caogong bridge, Wangkou village, Wuyuan, Jiangxi Province
This is a stone arch bridge made of stone. According to relevant historical records, it was built in the Longji period of Tang Dynasty (889 AD). It has a history of more than 1000 years. At that time, Wangkou had not yet built a village. Dozens of miles away, there was a family named Cao Zhongze (Cao Wenze, the seventh grandson of Cao Quanyi in Wudong, Wuyuan, Jiangxi). He took a fancy to the excellent geomantic omen here. Now he chose a cemetery on the base of the village and buried the ancestral Tomb of the Cao family. In order to make it convenient for him to go to the grave for sacrifice, the bridge was built by chiseling stones. After 500 years, it was rebuilt by Cao Yiqian and his grandson in the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty (1488 A.D.).
