Tongxi scenic spot is located in the northwest of Tongpu Township, Ruian, Zhejiang Province. It was approved by Wenzhou Municipal People's government as Wenzhou Municipal scenic spot in August 1994. Tongxi reservoir and its surrounding landscape are the main body of Tongxi scenic spot. The lake and mountain scenery are mutually matched. It is a lake mountain combination scenic spot with both water and land activities. In the scenic spot, there are rippling blue waves, boat glimpses, surrounded by mountains and overlapping peaks. There are mountains outside the lake, lakes in the mountains, mountains in the lake, and lakes outside the mountains. There is a Longtan and a stream in the small depressions on both sides of the reservoir There are more than 50 strange rocks in the scenic area, such as fishing rock, Shamao rock, Jinnai rock and Shoutao rock. Along the side road of the reservoir, there are many grottoes, such as bat cave, Guanyin cave, Tongtian cave, etc.

Main attractions

Tong Xi scenic area has been a beautiful scenic spot since ancient times. Dozens of clear streams have been rushing down from Fuquan mountain in the southwest to form a big stream, because there were many Wutong trees on the stream side, so the river was named Tong River. With Tongxi reservoir as the main body, Tongxi scenic area integrates sightseeing, vacation and recuperation. It is characterized by "beautiful lakes and mountains, strange peaks and caves, streams, waterfalls and springs". It has four scenic spots, namely Longtan, jiupan, Fuquan and Meiling, and 35 major scenic spots. In 1994, Tongxi was approved as a municipal scenic spot in Wenzhou. The ancient sites in this section of Tongxi scenic area are very precious. There are Tianqing temple, the place where Wang Gang brothers gathered in the Ming Dynasty, the tomb of Li Weiyue, a politician in the late Ming Dynasty, Zhenbai temple built in memory of Tao Hongjing in the northern and Southern Dynasties, and many historical sites of modern revolutionary activities, all of which contain rich cultural connotations

It is said that more than 1500 years ago, Tao Hongjing, a famous thinker, physician and Taoist, lived in seclusion in Tongxi. Tao Hongjing, whose name is Tongming, has a posthumous title of Mr. Zhenbai. He was born in Xuling, Danyang (now Jiangning County, Nanjing City). He once served as the companion of kings in the court of the Southern Qi Dynasty. Dissatisfied with the corruption of the government, he abandoned his official and went to live in Jurong, Jiangsu Province, for a while. Fearing that the imperial court would find him and ask him to come out of the mountain again, he went to study in anonymity, traversed famous mountains and rivers, and came to Angu (today's Ruian), where he lived on the island full of towering ancient pines by the Feiyun River. Tongxi reservoir has been praised as "the fairyland of desire".
