Zai Qing Villa

Zaiqing villa is located on the Bank of Nanbei lake, backed by Jinniu Mountain. It is the first modern villa in Nanbei Lake scenic area. It reflects the owner's love for green mountains and green waters, and yearns for pastoral life. It was originally built by Zhu bingshou.

Zhu bingshou, who was named Shaoyu, was a Jinshi in Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty. His grandfather Zhu Changyi was the number one scholar in 1826. Zhu family is a famous family of Haiyan, and is inherited from the descendants of Zhu Xi. In 1916, because his second son Zan Qing was weak and ill, Zhu bingshou built a villa in the north and South Lake. The door of the villa was opposite to the Castle Peak, and the window was full of green waves. It was a place for reading and nursing. There were two main rooms, one reception room and one bridge pavilion. According to the local records, it is called "the style of Chinese and Western learning, the room is quite refined and elegant, and it is the first to open other industries on the lake.". Around May 20, 1932, Kim Jeou, leader of the South Korean Independent Party, was wanted by Japanese aggressors for the bombing in Hongkou Park on April 29. With Chu Fu Cheng's help, he took refuge from Shanghai to Jiaxing. When Jin Jiu was in Jiaxing, he was escorted by Zhu Jiarui, Chu's eldest daughter-in-law, to stay in Zaiqing villa in Shupu.

The existing Zai Qing villa was restored in 1995. In the main hall of the villa, there is a plaque inscribed by Liu Feng, the Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party committee, the book of "building a nation of conscience" and "spirit of independence" written by Jin Jiu, and the bronze statue of Mr. Jin Jiu. In the exhibition room, there are pictures and books such as "Jin Jiu's life" and "the course of refuge". General Jin Xin, the son of Mr. Kim Jeou and former chief of staff of the South Korean Air Force and Minister of communications, has been to Zaiqing villa in the South and North Lake for many times and wrote an inscription: "South Korea China friendship, drinking water and thinking of the source."
