Yunyan pagoda

Yunyan pagoda, also known as manmengting pagoda, is located on Yunyan mountain, 1km east of Yingjiang County. "Yunyan" is a Dai language, meaning auspicious, joyful and desirable place. It is one of the most important pagodas of Hinayana Buddhism in Yunnan Province. The pagoda was built in 1947 and took eight years to complete. Although it is a modern product, it has a strong ancient style and is listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Yunnan Province.

Main attractions

From north to south, an ancient and simple climbing Road with stone steps leads to the bottom of the tower. A pair of "Gaji" with high head and high chest are separated on both sides, and the magnificent pagoda stands towering. Around the tower there are forty small towers, all of which are conical in shape, with metal roofs at the ends and metal plates hanging. The breeze is tinkling and the dusk is shining. The pagoda is a multi-level brick concrete structure, which adopts the Southeast Asian traditional pagoda construction technology. It has rigorous modeling, exquisite elegance and magnificent momentum. This pagoda was built in 1946 by Si Hong, the chieftain of Zhanda. Although it is a modern product, it has a strong ancient style. Yunyan pagoda faces north from the south. You can have a panoramic view of the pagoda from the towering shade green banyan trees to the front edge of the pagoda along the concrete steps 4 meters wide and 80 meters long. This is a Burmese pagoda. The base of the pagoda is square. The bottom of the pagoda covers an area of 400 square meters. It is composed of a main pagoda and 40 small pagodas. From the base of the pagoda, the base is divided into four layers, and the tower is straight and straight. The height of the tower is staggered, and the main and secondary parts are clear. Both of them are square cone-shaped. Integrating Buddhist culture with Dai traditional architecture, it is a key cultural relic protection unit in Yunnan Province.

Yunyan mountain is hilly, full of implication, solid and spectacular, full of locust trees, bamboo forests, herbs and yams, which are very beautiful and green.

Festival activities

Near Yunyan pagoda, there are also cultural relics signs of national festivals, such as "Mu Nao Shi Dong" and "splash water pagoda". From the 15th to the 17th of the first month of each year, Jingpo people's "Mu Nao Zong Ge" Festival is held. The Dai People's splash water festival begins on the seventh day after Qingming Festival. At that time, the people of all ethnic groups will be in full dress, singing and dancing, and enjoying themselves.
