Qiaoxi Hakka Folk Culture Village

Qiaoxi Hakka folk culture village is 4 kilometers away from Yannanfei tea field, Yanyang Town, Meixian District, Meizhou city. It is a newly developed tourist attraction of Yannanfei tea field resort. There are more than 50 permanent residents, including more than 6000 overseas Chinese. The village is a cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province.

General situation of the village

Qiaoxi village, Yanyang Town, Meixian District, Meizhou City, was originally called kotou river. It covers an area of about 1 square kilometer, surrounded by mountains on all sides, with wuzhifeng in the East, Yi'an village in the west, limading in the south, Xianglu peak in the north and Qifeng Xiuding in the north. In the colorful forest at the entrance of the village, there are seven ancient trees, all of which are 100 year old trees. There are five kinds of tree species, including Phoebe bournei (Lauraceae), Cymbidium (huangyeshuke), Elaeocarpus sylvestris (Elaeocarpaceae), Cymbidium (Myrtle) and lotus (Camellia). Cymbidium sylvestris is the largest tree species found at home and abroad.

Village buildings

The Hakka residential buildings in the village are located by the mountains and rivers, and are well arranged. Shide building, Baoshan building, shianju, Jishan building, Yanyi building and Shide hall are unique. Jishan building and Jishan hall outside Shide hall are famous for their architectural scale and art. Zhu Lianfen, a member of the Hong Kong and Macao National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, is one of the outstanding representatives of the village. The village is also an old revolutionary base area. During the Anti Japanese War, it received many revolutionaries. At that time, the local Party Committee organ newspaper of eastern Guangdong, the mass newspaper, was printed in the village.

There are also many scenic spots in the village. The natural landscape, Hakka customs and historical evolution of the village can be regarded as the epitome of the "hometown of culture", "hometown of overseas Chinese" and the old revolutionary base area. It has high historical, artistic and scientific research value and attracts Chinese and foreign folklore scholars, architectural experts and tourists.
