Taizhou zoo is one of the government's key projects, with a total investment of 10 million yuan. After nearly eight months of construction, it was officially opened to the public on June 1, 2005.

The zoo is located on Fenghuang East Road, Tangwan town

On the southeast side of the confluence of Tongyang Canal. The design of the zoo follows the principle of nature oriented, highlighting the combination of environmental protection and plant landscaping, adjusting measures to local conditions, making full use of the terrain and terrain, reducing the damage to the environment caused by construction, and integrating the characteristics of the times with local culture. In the park, a circular trunk road is used to connect all the animal display and amusement attractions into a line. In the middle, the East-West artificial lake is used to create a landscape, so that the cage house faces north and South and adapts to the living environment of animals.

According to the types of animals, there are 11 animal exhibition areas in the park, including Raptor area, songbird area, waterfowl area, herbivore area, Monkey Mountain and Bear Mountain, as well as aquarium and animal performance hall. There are more than 40 kinds of animal species, including Amur tiger, African lion, ring tailed lemur, brown bear, milu deer, alpaca, zebra, black necked geese and white peacock.
