Erlianhot National Geopark is a national 4A tourist attraction and popular science education base. It is located in the area of erennuoer Yanchi, 9km northeast of the urban area. It is the earliest dinosaur fossil producing area recorded in the international paleontological history in Inner Mongolia. The dinosaur Science Museum, mineral crystal Museum, fossil burial Museum, Yilin post site museum and tree fossil scenic area have been built in the scenic area.

Erlianhot National Geopark is the first area to discover dinosaur fossils and dinosaur egg fossils in Asia. It has a wide excavation area, complete fossil preservation and many kinds of fossils. It is an important base for studying dinosaur fossils, Paleovertebrate fossils and paleomammalian fossils in Asia. In addition, the Erlian salt pond and wetland landscape in the park constitute a geological heritage landscape group with high research value. Among them, there are two world-class, five national and two autonomous regions.

In August 2009, Erlianhot National Geopark successfully passed the qualification evaluation of the fifth batch of National Geoparks in China, and was officially awarded the qualification of National Geopark.

Erlian Basin Cretaceous Dinosaur National Geopark, with the famous late Cretaceous dinosaur fossils at home and abroad as the main landscape, supplemented by important stratigraphic remains and granite forest landscape, combined with the unique dinosaur landscape cultural resources, is a city landscape with rich scientific connotation, strong port characteristics and unique characteristics, integrating scientific research, scientific popularization, sightseeing and border trade It is a national geopark with beautiful scenery and great tourism value. There are various types of geological relics in the park. According to the distribution and geographical combination characteristics of geological relics, the park is divided into Erlian Yanchi dinosaur fossil group relics scenic area, Erlianhot port cultural scenic area and baoder granite forest scenic area. In addition, a series of geological heritage scientific investigation sites are planned around the park, with a total planning area of 243.2km2.
