Jimunai shenshicheng Geopark

Xinjiang Jimunai grassland shenshicheng Geopark is located in Jimunai County, Xinjiang, the westernmost part of China. It consists of two parks, shenshicheng and qiaqihai, with an area of about 60km.

In February 2018, Jimunai shenshicheng Geopark was awarded the eighth batch of national geoparks by the Ministry of land and resources.

Jimunai shenshicheng Geopark was granted the qualification of autonomous region level Geopark by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in November 2012 (officially approved after two years of construction). It is characterized by granite stone egg landform, supplemented by geological structure landscape and Kazakh national culture and other cultural landscape. It is a Geopark with high scientific, popular science and aesthetic value, integrating tourism and leisure It is a comprehensive Geopark integrating vacation, scientific investigation and ethnic customs experience.

main features

Due to the special geological background and ecological environment, the granite landform types in the park are rich and typical. It is a large-scale and "divine" granite egg landform landscape area in China's arid area, with wind erosion as the main. It has granite egg landform, stone egg stacking landform, stone mortar, stone cave, stone cave, stone basin, stone forest, stone pillar, stone trough, cliff and other micro landform types Complete, can be called the granite wind erosion landform Museum.

The morphological characteristics of Shidan landform are mainly controlled by tectonic framework and external dynamic action. Under the control of structural framework, i.e. folds and joints, the rock cracks along the joints. When the surface is not exposed, the groundwater erodes and the cracks expand. After the surface is exposed, it is carved in strong wind, especially with gravel, forming a large and small, lifelike granite egg landform. Shenshi city is full of strange stones, complicated shapes, vivid, highly ornamental, amazing and shocking. How can the word "Shenshi" be! "God" is the soul of the granite stone egg landscape in shenshicheng.

The granite stone egg landscape in the park often changes due to different viewing locations, the alternation of sunny and rainy days, the changes of dawn and dusk. Almost every "God stone" has different origins and legends, which endows it with character and aura. It is not only a museum of Earth Science, but also an ideal place for geological tourism.

In addition to the granite stone egg landform, there are nearly a thousand stone mortars on kizilitas mountain. The largest one is five meters in diameter, and the smallest one is the size of an egg. Each stone mortar is like an exquisite handicraft, perfectly integrated with nature. The magical power of nature creates a magnificent natural landscape here.

The park has a good ecological environment and rich animal and plant landscape, which is a natural specimen bank and gene bank for the study of zoology and botany. Especially from June to July every year, the park is full of beautiful scenery. Jimunai county is a multi-ethnic county with Kazak as the main body, including Kazak, Han, Uygur and so on. There are many folk festival activities of ethnic minorities, and its daily life, production, diet and other aspects also show distinctive national culture.
