Poetry Wall Park

Changde is known as the hometown of cultural relics. In recent years, the state has invested 108 million yuan to build a poetry wall with a 2.92 km long flood control wall as the carrier, which aims to carry forward Chinese traditional culture and strengthen patriotic education, and is named "China Changde Poetry Wall". The Poetry Wall is a collection of contemporary Chinese famous poets' poems, calligraphy and fine arts, which are engraved on one wall. It is known as the world's longest art wall of poetry, calligraphy, painting and engraving, and has won the "Guinness top". Located on the outside of Yuanshui flood control wall in Changde City, China Changde Poetry Wall is the main landscape of Yuanjiang scenic belt of "three mountains and three rivers", covering an area of about 14000 square meters.

Development history

Changde Poetry Wall is a large-scale cultural project with distinctive artistic characteristics, which was built in 1991 by Changde Municipal Party committee and municipal people's government with the flood control dike of Yuanjiang River as the carrier.

In 2000, Changde Municipal Party committee and people's government implemented the "Shiqiang, Bund, Yuanshui echelon development" plan, relocated Shiqiang Bund sand and gravel field, demolished all the original buildings, and elaborately built Shiqiang park. After three years of construction, it has formed a six li long scenic belt. More than 130 kinds of trees, such as gingko, Cinnamomum camphora, willow and banyan, are planted in the park, with more than 60000 square meters of water-resistant grass skin. Various scenic spots and Wuling wonders are dotted in the park. On the wall of poetry, there are four Pavilions: Wuling Pavilion, Chunshen Pavilion, paiyun Pavilion and fisherman Pavilion. They are not only the gate of flood control, but also add profound cultural heritage to the ancient city. The wall of poetry and the park are antique. On weekdays, there is an endless stream of tourists. With the fall of night and the beginning of the morning, this place is full of tourists, and is praised as the first leisure place by Changde people.

Guinness

On September 5, 2000, the Guinness headquarters in Shanghai officially named it "the world's longest art wall of poetry, calligraphy, painting and engraving", making it recorded in the history of world cultural engineering,

Chang De Poetry Wall, which was praised as "a great creation" by the former premier of the State Council. Wang Daohan, President of the Straits Association, praised Changde's Poetry Wall as not only a great landscape but also a unique one. The Chinese Poetry Society awarded it the title of "national advanced unit of poetry education".

Main attractions

On the wall of poetry, there are four Pavilions: Wuling Pavilion, Chunshen Pavilion, paiyun Pavilion and fisherman Pavilion. They are not only the gate of flood control, but also add profound cultural heritage to the ancient city. The wall of poetry and the park are antique.

Wuling Pavilion

Standing seven stories high, it is the largest of the four pavilions, with a Poetry Wall Museum. The title of the pavilion is inscribed by Li duo, vice chairman of China Book Association, and the title of the pavilion is inscribed by Yang Renkai, a famous cultural relic expert.

Chunshen Pavilion

It is the second largest pavilion in the wall of poetry, built in memory of Chunshen, one of the four gentlemen of the Warring States period.

Paiyun Pavilion

It is named after Liu Yuxi, Sima of Langzhou, who said that "a crane in the clear sky will pour down the blue sky with poetry".

Fisherman's Pavilion

It was built in memory of Song Jiaoren, a famous modern bourgeois revolutionist.

Tourism information

The total length of Changde Poetry Wall is 8 Li, which is divided into "vicissitudes of a hundred generations", "famous sages chanting", "Wuling Jiazhi", "Lanzhi Fenghua", "Huaxia Xinsheng" and "Wuzhou jieying". In addition to the continuation of "time style" and "eternal masterpiece" in 2005, a total of eight chapters.

The wall of poems has selected 1530 poems about Changde and famous Chinese and foreign poems since the pre Qin period. Poetry is expressed in the form of calligraphy. It is written by 1213 calligraphers in China, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Zhen, Xing, Li, Zhuan and Cao are gathered in one wall. Among them, 43 exquisite stone murals were carved and inlaid. The wall names and titles of each chapter are inscribed by Zhao Puchu, Shen Peng, qigong, Yan Jialong, sun Qifeng, Wang Xuezhong, Xiao Xian, Zhang Ding, Zang Kejia, Fang Yi and Chen natural.
