The origin of history

In 1722 (the 37th year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty), Huang Bangning, the magistrate of Zhangde, presided over the reconstruction of Tianning Temple and tower. He believes that the pagoda and the Confucius Temple in the South (in today's West Street Primary School in Anyang City) echo each other. They can represent the cultural peak of the ancient city. The tower base is still in use today. On the bottom of the tower base is a round lotus seat with seven lotus petals. It is staggered up and down, stretched left and right. It supports the body of the pagoda and protects the base of the pagoda, making the pagoda more beautiful.

Layout structure

According to the annals of Anyang County, the tower was built in 952, the second year of Zhou Guangshun in the Five Dynasties. It has a history of more than 1000 years. It was designated as a national key cultural relic protection unit in 2001. The tower is located in the former site of Tianning Temple in the northwest of the old city of Anyang, not far from the reporter's Anyang hotel. The taxi costs only 4 yuan. The biggest feature of Tianning Temple Pagoda is that it is big at the top and small at the bottom, which is very rare in ancient pagodas in China.
