Around 651 ad, some people bathed in the hot spring. During the period of the Japanese puppet regime, the hot springs in Tanggangzi, Anshan and xiongyuecheng in southern Liaoning were known as the three hot springs in Manchuria. After liberation, the PLA 240 hospital, Liaoning Rongjun sanatorium, Dandong hot spring hotel and Tianchi hotel were built here.
