The project was completed in the 19th year of Jiajing (1540), which made the defense of Guancheng tighter and was called "the great wall of broken wall" in ancient times. Because the city wall falls down from the mountain, it looks like the great wall hanging upside down on the ridge, and the iron wall is suspended in the air, blocking the Shiguan gorge, commonly known as the "Hanging Wall Great Wall". Only one section of the original wall of the Great Wall is left. It is 4 meters wide at the bottom, 2 meters wide at the top and 0.5-6 meters high. The thickness of schist layer is 10-15 cm, and that of soil layer is 10-12 cm. The existing 750 meter Great Wall was rebuilt in 1987. Among them, 231 meter wall is suspended on a 150 meter high ridge with an inclination of 45 ', which is as high as 6 meters. The thickness of rubble and soil layer is as old as before. In addition, a pile wall and a building wall were built at the top of the wall, a pier was built at the end of the wall, and a step-by-step steamed bread road was built at the top of the pier and on the hillside. Visitors climb up the stairs, flat place like walking on flat ground, steep place like climbing cliff. It is similar to the great wall of Badaling in Beijing. There is a poem praising: "the Great Wall, Wanli pass, diezhang Black Mountain dark wall hanging.".

admission ticket:

31 yuan (including postage Postcard 1 yuan). If you need to explain, you will be charged 50 yuan for the whole journey (climbing), 5 yuan for more than 10 people, 25 yuan for half journey (not climbing), and 5 yuan for more than 10 people.

Transportation:

It is located on the northern slope of Heishan, 8 kilometers north of Jiayuguan City and to the north of Shiguan gorge. It is about 14 kilometers from the city to the Great Wall. Take a bus from Jiayuguan City to the overhanging wall, about 7 km.

Tips:

The best travel time of hanging wall is 08:30-20:00 (summer and Autumn); 08:30-18:00 (winter and spring)
