Huangyuan Library

Huangyuan library is located at the foot of wancang mountain and adjacent to Zaiqing villa.

Huang Yuan (1906-2003), named Qiyuan, Ziheqing, born in Wuyuan Town, Haiyan County, followed Mr. Lu Xun in his early years. He was editor in chief of translated version and other magazines in Shanghai literature. He translated many translated works, such as the life and works of Turgenev, grade 1902, the general died in bed and Gorky's representative works. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, he abandoned his pen and joined the army. He worked in the literary and Art Commission of the New Fourth Army and successively edited the first military of the New Fourth Army In the literature and art part of the magazine "Japan" and "resistance to the enemy", the literary supplement of "resistance to the enemy" was published with Chen Yi and Ye Li

General ting and ye Fei have established revolutionary friendship. During the war of liberation, Huang Yuan was the director of the Chinese Language Association. After the liberation of China, Huang Yuan successively served as vice minister of culture and Secretary of the Party group of the East China military and political Commission, Vice Minister of culture and education, Vice Minister of propaganda, director of the Culture Bureau and Secretary of the Party group of the Zhejiang provincial Party committee. In the 1950s, he presided over the adaptation of kunsu opera "shi5guan", which was praised by Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou. Mr. Huang Yuan donated nearly ten thousand books to his hometown Haiyan in 1996. The county Party committee and the county government attached great importance to this. In 1997, they allocated funds to build a library, which was completed in October 1998. With a construction area of 560 square meters, it is divided into two floors: left and right. The left is the creative building, the right is the library, and there is a winding corridor in the middle. It is a cultural building with the architectural characteristics of Ming and Qing Dynasties, integrating the library and creation.
