Eight women's memorial to the Yangtze River
The memorial hall of eight women throwing themselves into the river is located about 4 kilometers northeast of Sanjiazi Village, Diaoling Town, Mudanjiang City, at the foot of zhamugangzi mountain and around Laodaokou on the left bank of ushun river. The monument is located on the left bank of the river, on the west slope of xiaoguanmenzuizi, 30 meters east of the highway. The monument was built on the original site in 1995.
On November 12, 2019, the National Committee for democracy and people's livelihood announced the "Sixth Batch of national education bases for national unity and progress", among which the memorial hall of eight women in Mudanjiang city was listed.
Introduction to scenic spots
The place of martyrdom is marked as the monument of "eight women throwing themselves into the river". The stone tablet is made of granite. On the front of the tablet is Chen Lei's inscription "eight women's spirits shine for thousands of years", with eight characters written vertically. It was built in 1982 to commemorate the heroic achievements of eight women soldiers of the Anti Japanese Federation who fought against the Japanese army bravely in the autumn of 1938. On the left side of the monument is the memorial hall of revolutionary martyrs, which displays the profile and portrait of the martyrs, as well as knives, guns and relics. At the same time, it also displays the historical facts of the Anti Japanese war in Diaoling area and the portraits and relics of the general of the Anti Japanese Federation.
