Honghua Lake

Honghua lake is located in the mountainous area of dashibi and honghuazhang on the upper row of Longfeng in the southwest of Huizhou City, covering an area of 9 square kilometers. Honghua lake is the source of living water of Huizhou West Lake and the "water curtain waterfall" of Huizhou West Lake.

Honghua Lake scenic area is located in the mountainous area of dashibi and honghuazhang in the upper row of Longfeng in the southwest of the city, covering an area of 9 square kilometers.

Development history

Honghua Lake scenic area, founded in 1991, is a reservoir type scenic area, which is composed of Honghua lake reservoir, dashibi reservoir and East West entrance park. The water surface of the reservoir area is 1.62 square kilometers, the water depth is 28 meters, the storage capacity is 19 million cubic meters, and the rainfall collection area is 6.85 square kilometers. The lake area is rich in mountains and forests, and there is a pavilion in the lake.

Transformation plan

According to the planning scheme of south entrance road and supporting facilities of Honghua Lake scenic spot in Huizhou City, a new south entrance of Honghua Lake scenic spot will be built. The south entrance road of Honghua Lake scenic area starts from about 150 meters to the west of gutang'ao Avenue, and ends at the greenway of Honghua Lake scenic area. The total length of the road is about 965 meters, which is one of the main access roads to the scenic area. It is planned to set up two parking lots with a total of about 650 parking spaces, which are respectively located on the north and south sides of the planned new road. A new scenic area management service point (including bicycle rental) with about 1000 bicycle parking spaces is located on the south side of the planned new road.

Main attractions

Honghua Lake scenic spot is located at the edge of the traditional urban area, which has become the nearest place for Huizhou urban residents to get close to the mountains and waters. There are Shuiliandong, one of Huizhou's eight ancient scenic spots, and newly built lakes. The water quality around the city is better than that of Dongjiang River, Xizhijiang River and Xihu Lake, which truly reflects the characteristics of the scenic area: "the mountains are not high but elegant, the forests are not stained but green, the water is not deep but clear, and the trees are not old but lush".

Gaobangshan

Gaobangshan National Forest Park is the green lung of Huicheng District. It is the only national urban forest park in Huicheng District. Located in Honghua lake and West Lake scenic area, it is the highest mountain in the north of Honghua Lake scenic area, with a view of Luoshan and crocodile lake. It's the first choice for citizens to climb the mountain, go for an outing, keep fit and visit. The moral of Bangshan is to wish Huizhou examinees the chance to enter Jinbang high school.

Gaobangshan is one of the 18 scenic spots in the West Lake. There are Diaobao group of the Republic of China (near the TV station) and Chen Jiucheng tomb (Fengqi cave in Gaobangshan).

Water park

Located in the downstream of the main dam in the west of the central area of Honghua Lake scenic spot, it is a valley area surrounded by the main dam, gaobang mountain and honghuazhang mountain. The water park with the theme of ecological leisure and recreation organizes the layout of scenic spots according to four functional units: entrance square area, leisure and recreation area, water park area and leisure resort area.

Hometown Garden

Located in Honghua Lake scenic area, it is a comprehensive park integrating Memorial, leisure and tourism. The first phase of the project, with an investment of 13.8 million yuan, was started in December 2007 and completed on April 30, 2008. The park covers an area of 32000 square meters, divided into entrance area, memorial square area and memorial monument area. On September 27, 2008, Huizhou City held a memorial ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Liao Chengzhi's birth. Liao's ashes were moved from Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery in Beijing to his hometown cemetery for burial.

Honghua Lake Greenway

Honghuahu greenway, with a total length of 18 km, is the first demonstration ecological greenway built by Huizhou City, and is also the No.3 branch of Pearl River Delta cultural and leisure greenway, with a total length of 34 km, including the connecting line. It was officially opened in June 2009.

Lakeside greenway service facilities, along the line by every 3 km set up a point, a total of 5 service points and 8 landscape rest points. There are scenic spots, pavilions, stone benches, Stoics, toilets, bicycle corridors and battery car loading and unloading stations. The service building is Lingnan residential style, and the leisure places are built according to the terrain. For example, the drunk water pavilion built near the water is the best point to enjoy the sunset lake. The scenic spots also set up bicycle culture exhibitions to show international bicycle culture by showing bicycle related movies and TV dramas, introducing bicycle development history, bicycle culture of various countries and bicycle events. In order to make the tourists enjoy themselves, in addition to setting up the shore morning transport place, there are also chess tables for chess lovers to play.

The total length of Honghua Lake greenway is 18 km, which combines with the international bicycle track standards to build a flat asphalt pavement. At the same time, the greenway retains the original ecology to the maximum extent, and carries out the planning and design with the design concept of step-by-step landscape difference, so as to achieve the combination of arbor, shrub and grass, flowers in four seasons and distinct layers. Along the way, water and electricity, service points and leisure scenic spots are perfect, and signboards are standardized.

Yongfu Temple

Yongfu temple was built in Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty. The former site is located at Fengshan gate beside the West Lake in Huizhou. It is one of the eight ancient sceneries of the West Lake. According to the records of Huizhou Prefecture, Yongfu temple is one of the oldest temples in Huizhou. In history, it was a famous Buddhist temple in Dongjiang River Valley and even Lingnan. It flourished in all dynasties and became famous overseas.

Yongfu temple in Huizhou has a long history. It was built in Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty. It is the first temple in Huizhou and an ancient temple integrating natural landscape and cultural landscape.

In December 2000, with the approval of Guangdong ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee, Yongfu temple in Huizhou was relocated and rebuilt.

The reconstructed Yongfu temple covers an area of 56000 square meters and a construction area of 7300 square meters. It is an orthodox imitation of the Tang Dynasty. The main buildings include the main hall, wuliangshou hall, bell tower, Drum Tower, main hall square, Mountain Gate, etc.

The design concept of the temple comes from the picture of wuliangshoujingbian in cave 17 of Dunhuang Grottoes, which shows the scene of the paradise of Buddhism. The Yongfu temple in the scheme design is a Tang style architectural structure. It is an axisymmetric, slightly elongated building built close to the mountain, covering an area of more than 20000 square meters, and the square and other facilities covering an area of more than 7000 square meters.

The reservoir area of Honghua lake is located in the northwest of honghuazhang, the highest peak of mountains, so it is named Honghua Lake by honghuazhang. Honghua lake is the source of the living water of Huizhou West Lake. In order to solve the pollution problem of West Lake, the municipal government has built Honghua Lake Reservoir in the upper reaches of West Lake since 1991, and introduced fresh water into West Lake. It injects 4.75 million cubic meters of living water into West Lake every year, takes two or three "baths" for West Lake, and improves the water quality of West Lake.

Honghua Lake

At the entrance, there is Honghua Lake Park. The park can be divided into eight districts: Honghua Wenyi District, Taishan seeking source district, Mountain Development District, mushui guanbang District, Lanying Xianting District, hydrophilic Recreation District, Qushui seeking secluded District, seeking source and thanksgiving culture axis. There are water curtain waterfall, wine singing Pavilion and other scenic spots in the park. On the left side of the garden gate, there is a foothill garden with a large area of hillside green space, and trees and flowers are intercropped. Next to the entrance to Shangong Road, there is a memorial archway named honghuafang.

As an important supporting facility of Honghua Lake scenic spot, Honghua Lake large parking lot has a construction investment of about 85 million yuan and a total construction area of 5500 square meters. It is the largest parking lot in the urban area, with about 1000 parking spaces and 50 parking spaces for battery cars.

The construction of Honghua Lake parking lot follows the principle of separation of people and vehicles, with complete functions and complete supporting facilities. The whole building complex follows the Lingnan traditional style and integrates Huizhou residential characteristics.

Important events

On September 16, 2014, Huizhou Xizi Lake netizen "yiyezai boat" posted that a 1.5-meter-long big fish was found in Honghua lake reservoir, and the video was taken to the Internet, which once again triggered a heated discussion among netizens about whether there are big fish in Honghua lake reservoir. Honghua Lake Management Office responded that no ferocious fish have been found, but the underwater situation is uncertain. It is suggested that tourists should not swim in the wild.
