Shunfeng Mountain Park

Shunfeng Mountain Park is one of the "ten new sceneries" in Shunde. It is located at the foot of Taiping mountain in the northwest of Shunde New City of Foshan City. Country road to nanguodong road. It is about 3 km away from the administrative center of the district. It is a modern tourist attraction integrating tourism, leisure and entertainment. The entrance archway is a huge three span Chinese archway. The whole archway is 88 meters wide, 38 meters high, 3 meters thick and 35 meters long. The whole archway weighs 14000 tons. There are 16 marble carved dragon pillars between the front and back arches of the archway, each weighing 25 tons. All of them are bolted upside down on the top of the gatehouse, creating the momentum of flying down in the sky. Its large scale, magnificent shape, gorgeous design and exquisite stone art are rare at home and abroad, so it enjoys the reputation of the first memorial archway in China.

Detailed explanation of memorial archway

The archway of Shunfengshan park is a reinforced concrete frame with granite hanging on the outside. It is mainly composed of two kinds of rocks: "black lapis lazuli" and "fuguihong". Because the archway is huge, it is different from the domestic archway with three or five storeys tile surface. The tile surface of the archway of Shunfengshan park is as many as 11 storeys, staggering high and low, which is spectacular. The number of tile surface is also very rare in China. The concave yellow convex green half glazed Longhua ridge, commonly used in other royal palaces, is generally used as the tile surface. The pick between tile surfaces is built with hollow stone, which can not only decorate but also balance the upper and lower tile surfaces.

The arch cave in the middle of the front of the archway is inscribed with "Shunfeng Mountain Park", while the north side is inscribed with "Shunfeng Range Rover". There are door gods on both sides of the font, and dragon gate flower boards on both sides of the door god. The flower boards on the three door openings are symmetrical patterns, including three lions playing balls, nine dragons playing pearls, eight immortals and eight treasures, Songhe Yannian and flowers and birds of different shapes. The flower boards on the archway are carved no matter how big or small. The two ends of the arc-shaped door openings are decorated with qingshiao fish heads, showing peace and nobility in the simplicity. Liang kunhao said that it is rare to use ancient Chinese dragon and phoenix patterns in the archways. It is also an innovation that there are so many dragon and Phoenix carvings in Shunfeng Mountain archways.

It is particularly worth mentioning that on the four bases of the archway, in addition to the four cement pillars supporting the archway, there are two dragon pillars with a diameter of 1.1 meters, a length of 12 meters and a weight of 25 tons on both sides. According to reports, all the 16 dragon pillars are hollow stones with steel pipes inside. Three dancing dragons are carved on the surface of the stone. All the dragon pillars are hung upside down and fastened with screws. Two of them are hung on both sides of the arch at a height of 5 meters above the ground, which is particularly eye-catching because of its exquisite workmanship.
