brief introduction

"Guizhou Wenta" is the name in the chapter of "Jianzhi" in the annals of the county (now Shunde District, Foshan City), but there is no record of its building materials and age.

Each corner wall is 4.1 meters wide, with a total of seven floors and a total height of about 42 meters. There are stone cap inscriptions on each layer. The first layer is "flying out of the sky", the second layer is "Xiujia Shiyang" (Note: the tower is in the south of lion mountain in Guizhou), the third layer is "Jukui Pavilion", the fourth layer is "title place", the fifth layer is "hangaoxia", the sixth layer is "Fengming", and the seventh layer is "Lingzhao", which is not recognized. According to ER Shu Xiu, there are five types of characters, namely Kai, Cao, Zhuan and Li. It is said that Hu Jun wrote them. Hu Jun was considered to be a Guizhou native. In 1792, he was granted a deputy Gongsheng. If this is true, it can be the evidence of the time when the tower was built.

The tower is a loft type brick and wood structure. The brick construction method of the tower has a characteristic. Every five elements changes into a style. First, one is horizontal and one is smooth, then two are smooth and one is horizontal, then three are smooth and one is horizontal, four are smooth and one is horizontal, and five are smooth and one is horizontal. It is an isolated example of the existing brick masonry method of ancient pagoda in our county (now Shunde District, Foshan City).

Guizhou (now Guizhou and Rongqi town were merged into Ronggui street of Shunde District in 2003) wentazi was repaired in 1989. Due to the strict construction in accordance with the principle of ancient building repair, the characteristics of simple, elegant and bright color of the tower were restored. In order to effectively protect the ancient pagoda, the land was expropriated around the pagoda, which was turned into a small park surrounded by brick walls, pavilions and water cupboards inside, and a four column archway was built at the main gate, which was magnificent. In May 1991, the tower was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit. After 2007, the area around Wenta has become a fully open park. The original walls and surrounding shops have been demolished and relocated, and fitness facilities such as tennis courts, table tennis courts, badminton courts and gatecourts have been added. Coupled with the historical attraction of Wenta, Wenta park has become a good place for leisure and entertainment in Ronggui. Now Ronggui is a beautiful scenery.
